Anyone hear anything interesting so far? Saw where Riley is still insisting that Hurts still isn't the QB.

Its comical that Riley thinks anyone, including Mordecai, is actually buying it. Is Mordecai just going to up and quit if he Hurts is named the starter?
It's just coach speak. The coaches want all the players to be hungry going into the season. If Coach Riley names Jalen the starter right now, it's possible that he will just cruise through the practices along with the other QB's. I think Coach Riley wants all the players to be hungry going into camp.
I understand the thinking behind it. I just don't think Mordecai is really going to buy into it. I'm sure he knows he will be backing up Hurts.
He might not be buying into it, but without a starter being named right now he has to believe that he has a chance to still be the starting QB.
I read with great consternation that the B12 has bowed down to texas implemented a rule that will penalize teams for throwing the horns down vs. texas. If the horns down is used to taunt a horn player, their sideline or their fans, then it will be an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. If the horns thrown down is done briefly and not directed at anyone, then it will be at the officials' discretion to determine if a penalty should be enforced.

I want to hear the explanation for the penalty when OU gets a penalty for doing the horns down against an opponent not named Texas?
As long as Hurts and Mordecai believe there is a chance that is all that matters. As a fan, I'd be extremely surprised if Jalen Hurts isn't named the starting QB.
All coaches do this. We do it at the high school level. It's important to keep everybody on the team hungry.
I just give Mordecai more credit than that. Are you saying practically everyone but him knows that Hurts will be starting? Come on...Hurst didn't transfer here to sit the bench. He could have done that at Bama. I wish coaches would just quit playing these games and state the obvious. They come out there with a straight face and say these things and expect us to believe it.
