Game Day in Norman. Trae Young the guest picker on ESPN.

We kick at 6:30. Light rain chances. 10% in the 1st half. 20% in the 2nd half.

Yeah, I saw that. Trae wasn't the most engaged guest picker. Often, the guest shows some homework. Trae seemed to just take the team with the best record. I get it. Not his sport.

Corso tried to explain the dynamic you were describing. When he picks OU, we lose. When he picks against us, we win. So he said give me the gun, which he shot, and the little flag came out. I think it said bang. Corso may be a clown, but he's the one member of the crew that really couldn't be replaced easily. Herbie is the best observer, but you can find another expert.

I don't take Corso that seriously, but he is fun to watch.
His predictions, or anyone's predictions, don't determine who wins or loses.

There are several sites claiming that Haselwood and Stogner are out, and Willis isn't back yet. We're going to be short some important bodies. But we're really not going to find out until pregame warmups.

I guess I didn't figure it out til today. I don't read OSU news much. But if they win today, they are very likely to win the regular season of the conference. They have only one loss. They only have TCU, Tech and Baylor left. They beat Iowa State. They'd be the top seed.

if we see OU win tonight and OSU , Tx beats ISU handing them only its second loss and all end up with 2 losses who plays for the B12 championship in a 4 way tie?

its feasible OU, Tx , OSU and ISU could end up 7-2 in conf. Or Texas -KU remains canceled that puts them out at 6-2 right? This could end up being a total mess to sort out.

Highest rank?

If there is a four way tie at 7-2, then there would be two with 2-1 records against the other thee, and two 1-2 against the other three. The two at 2-1 would advance. There cannot be one who is 3-0 in a four way tie. KState losing today, means that OU would win a four way tie breaker.

We are missing several key players. Stogener was mentioned on the broadcast. Haselwood is a COVID casualty. So is Jon Michael Terry. That info was out there before the game. My friend at the game says that Stipling is MIA.

So pointing is a 15 yard penalty but hitting a player out of bounds isn't?
Well, we've gotten our share of breaks in this game. It's not been one-sided. I thought the grounding call on OSU's first series was a lame call. There was a Poke receiver in the area. We got a couple of other breaks from the stripes. That call on Bookie wasn't just because of finger pointing. He wouldn't shut his mouth after the play and was pretty obvious taunting. There was a DPI on Brown that was Bogus and key.

OUr shortage of bodies might make a difference in the 2nd half. But the big difference right now, is that we can't run the ball effectively. If Sauce doesn't get the scheme fixed for the 2nd half, we could blow this lead.

OU needs better play from Swensen. Hiles needs to sit down. The chippy bullshit needs to stop.
We need a better pass rush. OSU has two good QBs and they are not being hurried.
OU will have to win this game on Rattler’s arm....with touchdowns, not FGs.

Some of the issue in 2nd Qtr is that OSU D adjusted and Riley not so much in his play calling. Not being able to run is killing us big time. It also seemed like the D isn’t putting the same type of pressure on QB they was earlier.

Holding OSU to one touchdown in the first half is not bad.
OU needs to get its offense going and keep OSU’s offense on the bench.

We haven't run the ball well the whole game. OUr overrated OLine is getting whipped, mostly. OSU's defense gained control of OUr OL in the 2nd quarter. They have Wallace back, and our game plan was to deal with a qb who was athletic, but didn't throw it that well. Their number two, is a pretty good passer. They have been able to find a way to get Wallace very involved, and our DB's just have to accumulate 40 plus yards in penalties per half, one way or another. And our edge guys are having to play more than usual. This is going to get tense, I'm afraid.

I'm REALLY tired of hearing how great Pledger is. The back side cut was there on the 3rd and 1 and he ran into the stack. OLine isn't doing their job, but it helps if the RB runs where the opening is.

Did Mikey get hurt?

Solid and decisive win over a good team.
So OSU scored only one touchdown in its games with its two Oklahoma neighbors, OU and Tulsa.
This team is getting better with each game and that's the sign of good coaching.

With all the guys we had missing, that was a really good win. But no letdowns allowed next week. We gotta go beat a West Virginia team who is undefeated at home.

Guys like Pledger are a dime a dozen. After watching Sermon today I wonder what the purpose was of him leaving. He got about the same playing time there as he was getting here. He would probably even gotten a lot more this year.

Yeah Sermon is a mystery to me. Was there a specific reason listed on why he left? Without Brooks in the lineup and Stephenson's suspension, Sermon would have had a ton of carries.
