Baylor mindset...

I am about 20 miles south of Waco. Baylor is falling apart. The players are distracted by things they have no control over and the coaching staff isn't helping.
In talking to the good Baptist Baylor fans, they seem to forget that there are many reports of athletes assaulting and stalking people on campus. The sad thing is, to me anyway, there are a lot of people who just want to ignore it. This whole attitude started over a decade ago, and it continues to this day.
"Don't judge the university by the actions of a few," is a common phrase.
Okay, how about we judge the university by it's complete disregard for the welfare of the students who pay tuition for an education while your scholarship athletes rape them?

Whatever bad happens at Baylor is well deserved, but the B12 will also take a hit if the Bears go backward, which appears to be inevitable. The conference will just become weaker, and the non conference schedule for all the members will become even more important. OU has a strong schedule lined up, so with a weak B12 winning early is a must.
texASS needs to get back to being a top 10 team, along with OU staying there for the little xii to garner any national respect. If Tea Cup, aOm, KSU and Tortilla Thrower U can add anything it would be even better.

Bob said in his press conference that Perine and Tomar would both return to practice today. Mixon was suspended just for the Iowa State game, so he should be back.

I posted this in another thread, quote from one of the Baylor Regents, "we were winning football games and it was awesome. Nobody wanted to mess with awesome". This university is horrible from the top down. This attitude is reflected in executive leadership all the way to the idiot students buying and selling the #CAB shirts at games. I hope they get the death penalty. Most deserving team in the history of the NCAA.
Totally agree with you. THIS is the problem. I can't believe anyone still coaching at Baylor would be stupid enough to have that conversation with a women, or anyone after what has gone in Waco. People like that have no business working with young men.
What happened at Baylor, similar to what happened at OU in 1989 (shootings, drugs, gang rape), are not NCAA violations....at least that was what I heard back then when the subject of the "death penalty" was applied to OU.
When OU was hit with a three year probation....and in light of what happened at SMU....I was somewhat relieved and able to hope for better days (and cleaner days) at OU. That finally came true only after a dismal decade, until Stoops arrived in 1999.
I believe Baylor's in a choke hold right now that may very soon wreck any and every effort to stay relevant. What a difference 2 years can make.
