After a nice vacation last week, I am continuing my series on collecting data on OU recruiting and how the players actually performed. The 2016 class featured Logan Roberson on the offensive line and Bryce Youngquist at linebacker. What a scary duo.
Rank: 16th
Best Player: Ben Powers (5.7)
Best Gems: Ben Powers (5.7), Parnell Motley (5.6)
Biggest Bust: Parrish Cobb (5.9)
My Overall Thoughts:

My Overall Thoughts:
- Overall this class is not good enough to live up to the standard we want at OU. Ben Powers was the only star in this class. I think we need at least 3 star players in every class.
- While Caleb Kelly is a good role player, given he was a 5 star he was somewhat of a bust. A lot of that was things out of his control and scheme fit though.
- While I don't think this class was good enough, it did supply a bunch of role players and most of the players were actually able to contribute in some form. So while the top end talent wasn't there, there also weren't a lot of players that were complete failures either. A lot of reserve players were in this class.
- One trend I am really noticing is just how good we are at JUCO recruiting. Ben Powers, Dede Westbrook, William Johnson, Devonte Bond, Emmanuel Beal. I also know there are some big names coming up like Hollywood, Winfrey, and Rhamandre. I don't know how other teams perform, but I have a suspicion OU is one of the best JUCO recruiting teams in the nation.
- I thought Mykel Jones and Abdul Adams were underrated as players. Also Amani Bledsoe is a very "what could have been" story for me. I think he would have excelled under Grinch.
