Wow....this was a death out of the blue. Wonder what he died from? I saw Hannah Storm announce it on ESPN and she was VERY emotional over it. Hard news to have to announce a death like that while on the air.

Yeah, that was tough watching Hannah struggle through that announcement. Saunders was pure class. RIP.
The cause of death is so far, being unannounced.

Having just been at the Rio olympics, sudden as it was, captain obvious and say heart attack.
Too bad.
He seemed the good chap.
He was a good announcer and a very personal friend that I never got to meet which is a sad thing for both of us. I'm sure he's in a better place than anywhere near me and enjoying my lame attempt at making the sad occasion seem a bit lighter.
