What a great win for OU!

Talk about a game with so many ups and downs. Oklahoma three times was a strike away from winning and the third time finally got us the win.

We are one gutsy softball team who does not want to lose.

Our defense and pitching kept us in the ball game

Lets win it all tomorrow!

BOOMER SOONER!

Amen !

Hats off to the Gators. They did not want to lose either. Crap I can't go to sleep now.

With the Gators being the home team with the last bat in each inning they had so many opportunities to walk off a win but our pitching and defense gave us the ultimate win.

That's what makes this game ever more sweeter - both Paige's shutting the door to keep the game going. I just wish the could have saved some of the drama in shutting the door the two times

Hard to win a game when your team strikes out 25 times, but that's what happened. I can't remember being that drained after any game. I'm sure there is a football game or two, or maybe I'm just getting to old. But that was just remarkable.

The poise of both teams, but especially the Sooners was incredible. It's so hard in a long extra inning game to go out there after you don't score, understanding that you have to get them out two more innings just to have a chance to win. But they just kept grinding.

Fast forwarding my DVR through the local news this morning (murders, fires, accidents) and the lead sports story "OU softball". Whoa, I do not ever remember the locals mentioning OU sports in anything but football. The only reason I even noticed OU was because the uniforms looked familiar thinking it might be about the Astros.

No Plaino not at all.

Our pitchers strikes out 14 of them and our pitchers had a better ERA. Barnhill in her 10 innings gave up 5 earned runs and two OU HRS.( I thought she was the nation's best?)

Also with the Gators being the home team with the last bat in each inning they had so many opportunities to walk off a win but our pitching and defense gave us the ultimate win

And THREE TIMES WE WERE ONLY ONE STRIKE AWAY FROM WINNING & THE THIRD TIME WAS THE CHARM.

We are the better team and we close them out tonight.

You've been right about most of this. I'll just wait and see. I do think that if nothing else, that the utter unfairness of the committee who made the bracket, is clear. They gave way too much favoritism to SEC schools and their treatment of OU and Minnesota was disturbing.

Pretty sure ESPN has a role in all this. But I'll wait until this is over to make any proclamations. I have no idea how Patty will use her pitchers tonight. I'm pretty sure that the Florida option is better than OUrs. I suspect that Patty will sit both Paige's tonight. If so, then we'll be hard pressed to do what you say. But we'll see.

Parker will start tonight with no doubt in my mind. She is rested and pitched less that 7 innings last night. Parker did great last night only giving up 2 runs.

Florida is the team in trouble with their pitching. Bottom line, OU owned Barnhill

Bull, we didn't have a base runner against Barnhill til the 5th inning. We didn't own her til her pitch count got pretty high.

Yes we owned her. and that is why she did not play in game 2
IT WAS NOT HER PITCH COUNT.WHEN WE GOT TO HER IN GAME1.

It was when we changed our stance in the batting box with us moving way up in the box to face her rise ball before it rised, we owned her.

In her 9 innings vs. OU we scored 5 runs against her.
We also hit 2 HRs off of her including Knighten's game winning 3 run Blast.

WHAT WAS BARNHILLS ERA WITH US SCORING 5 RUNS OFF OF HER IN HER 10 INNINGS IN GAME ONE?. .
It ain't under 1. It ain't under 2 It ain't under 3 It ain't under 4 It ain't under 5

In the 1st 5 innings for Barnhill her ERA vs. OU was 0.00. In the last 4 innings for Barnhill vs. OU her ERA was a pitiful 11.00

WE OWNED HER AND SHE GOT THE LOSS IN GAME ONE!.

Her head coach knew we owned her is why he did not play her in game 2.
We would have drubbed her in game 2 if she had played. Gasso changed our stance in the batting box.....It worked beautifully.

You may be right, but I doubt it. I think their HC held her out, as a hopeful advantage in game 3, knowing that they couldn't use both tonight. And they held us to no runs after the 2nd.

Maybe you noticed that after their homer in the 3rd, they only had one more base runner, that was the lead single in the 5-6 hole off Mendes leading off the 6th. no runners in the 4th, 5th or 7th. And Lowary, showing both a fastball at 75 and a change up at 58 got six up and six down. Incredible after 139 pitches last night. I believe that saving her the wear and tear for most of the last six weeks, in a closer role helped her with that.

It was an awesome night. And unless the SEC wins the baseball CWS, OU will have one more National Title, than the entire SEC. I'm feeling pretty good.
