2017 Projected WCWS Softball Bracket

College Madness had us as a #6 seed the past two weeks. We've dropped. I would rather be #9 than to have Tulsa and Texas State in our regional.

I hope that's right, but I'll be surprised if we're ahead of UCLA. They were 10th in the committee's top ten published last weekend, and haven't lost since. I think it included games through 10 days ago, and they've 5 of 6 since. Arizona is in the top 4 and UCLA beat them two out of three last weekend. Then they swept Arizona State this weekend in Tempe. ASU is in the top 25. I'll be shocked if we pass them, despite OUr win over them. I figure we'll be 9th. I agree that we should be 8th, but I believe we'll be 9th.

In either case, if we survive the Supers, we'll end up facing Florida most likely in the first round of the WCWS. Might be a very interesting series.

Florida is a weak hitting team and our pitching staff NOW can match theirs
In fact I think OU's pitching staff is the nation's best. .
The SEC is overrated and I'll repeat what I have posted in the last month.
In my opinion, no SEC team will be in the finals of the CWS

A&M is grossly overrated as is Tennessee. I don;t think either will make it out of the regionals

We re not competing with UCLA for 8th seed. They will be higher like #5 or #6.

Then we're competing with Minnesota.

If you're right about UCLA, then we have Florida State, Florida, Auburn, UCLA, Washington, Arizona and Oregon are seven that we are unlikely to pass. Minnesota has three losses and is 53-3 and ahead of us in every poll including RPI. That would be eight. Which makes us 9th. Minnesota won the Big Ten at 22-1 and swept their tournament. They also beat us twice last year, with a great pitcher. I hope we don't see them until OKC.

Ole Miss 5
LSU 1

Ole Miss wins SEC tournament.

You might think that this, couple with Washington''s two game beatdown of Bama at Bama, and Florida State's debacle in Oregon, that someone might question the supremacy of the old south. But, for some reason, the SEC appears to be insulated from examination, and they will somehow use this to suggest that they are yet further above the crowd. In my eyes, this makes the elite of the SEC look a little more vulnerable than they wished to appear.

Bull, here are the committee's rankings that came out last week. Minnesota has only three losses this season and has won 26 straight after also sweeping the Big 10 Tournament. OU is not coming from 11 at best, and passing Minnesota who was at least four spots ahead of us a week ago.

That's why I wrote that UCLA is a possibility. Minnesota ain't likely.

Top 10 ranking (record as of games played through May 3):

1. Florida (46-5)
2. Florida St. (48-3-1)
3. Arizona (47-5)
4. Washington (38-10)
5. Auburn (43-8)
6. Oregon (41-6)
7. Minnesota (48-3)
8. Tennessee (42-8)
9. Texas A&M (41-7)
10. UCLA (37-12)
