2, 3 and 4 go down

Looking like we might get a chance.

A lot of things still need to happen but what is really going to be interesting is how the comittee penalizes Clemson and Michigan for losing to unranked teams.

This has to be the committees worse nightmare seeing their 2-3-4 teams all lose on the same day. I will say this if Texas A&M leaps back into the top 4 then then every member on it should resign. It will tell us that bad losses just dont matter to them.

I'd like to see how many of those teams OU actually passes in the poll coming up this week. Likely a couple of them get in over OU anyways if they win out from here on.

I have a feeling that the committees top 10 won't really change all that much with the committee. Just some shuffling around. Just guessing here I think it will look like below and basically the committee giving both Clemson and Michigan passes for losing.

1. Alabama
2. Ohio State
3. Michigan
4. Clemson
5. Louisville
6. Wisconsin
7. Penn State
8. Washington
9. Oklahoma
10. Oklahoma State

. That should put us just barely in the top 10...maybe. After all we arent SEC.

Ultimately, it looks like the opening loss to Houston could really come back to haunt OU, even if OU wins its last two games.

Getting beat by Ohio State isn't going to lessen OU's chances that much as long as OSU continues to win. You're right about the Houston loss but it seems to me like OU is getting plenty of respect considering the strength, or lack of, in the B12. Not having a CCG will likely hurt more this year because of our two losses and not playing an extra game.

Loosing late in the season is a kick in the nuts. We might have a tiny chance, but wait, look at our defense.

Houston only has 2 loses. How did we lose that game? So ya say we have a chance.
They returned a FG attempt for a TD. OU didn't run the ball. The installed their 5 star true freshman in the second quarter and dominated OUr OL.

They scored more points. That is how they won. Maybe they took the game more seriously. Maybe OU thought it was a cake walk. While OU didn't tackle well, I wouldn't put this one on Mike. OU lost in many areas of that game...

It is a chance. How big of one? Small. Losses to good teams are better than losses to mediocre/bad teams in my opinion. Is Houston a good team?

Yep, I recorded that game PtLavacaSooner, but I can't bare to watch the nightmare again. Once was enough on that game. Every year this debacle happens.

Sorry, but I just don't think we're there. Does anyone really think we'd have a chance against Alabama, Clemson, Louisville, or Ohio State? We'd just feed the media and fan perception that we're never ready for true prime time games. I'd like to see us win out and then actually win a New Year's Bowl game that's not a CFP game. Baby steps in actually growing a defense and taking some of the tarnish off our nationally tainted reputation in the postseason.

"Yeah, they always do great in the weak Big 12 but put them against someone who's physical and plays defense and they fold like a cheap suit." Frankly, I'm sick of it and we can only shut those people up by winning when the real money is on the table.

I have them all. It helps when people make idiotic claims later on. Last season especially. OU waltzed into the final 4 against such inferior competition, yet had the record and championship to be deserving. The CFP is not much better than the BCS. 8, 12, or 16 teams will work much better.

Are you scared? If so, have you ever been before? If you have been, did you crawl into the corner and try to hide under the mattress or did you stand up and fight?

Oklahoma beat Alabama in the Sugar Bowl a few years ago. Did you believe before, or jump back on the Schooner afterwards?

We beat Alabama. True, we need to win our bowl game. If we only had a mediocre defense.

I honestly believe our offense gives us a puncher's chance against anybody but AL. Mixon looks faster than ever these last couple of weeks. The defense has made some modest strides also. Let's not forget that we we're competitive against Clemson in the playoff game last year.

But you better believe the aggies will come out with murder in their eyes on December 3rd. They can't wait to spoil our rising-from-the-ashes party. And WVU is nothing special, but is more than capable of out-grinding us in morgantown next week. Stoops and Co have rescued the season from disaster, but winning the CC is still going to be extremely difficult. I'd say the odds are against us winning both games.

Still a lot of madness needed in our favor, and of course we need to handle our own business.

Look for Washington State to finish off the Huskies.

Ain't no shocker coming from the SEC...Alabama ain't losing.

Really, we need the chaos to continue in the B1G. Doesn't matter who wins between Michigan and tOSU if Wisconsin can nab them in the conference title as well as losing another themselves.

Not sure Virginia Tech can take down Clemson in a possible ACC title game bout, and we need, of all teams, Houston, to take out Louisville.

I think it's to much to happen but if yesterday showed us anything, it's that anything can happen. Gonna be fun either way.

Is this a joke? No way Michigan remains #3 after losing to a 5-4 Iowa team, they will fall far. Also, no way Clemson is #4 after losing to a 5-4 Pittsburgh team at home. They too will fall far.

Read it again... He said, "shuffling around."

Michigan losing was bad for OSU. If OSU beats Michigan and Penn State and Wisconsin win out, which is likely, it will be Penn State playing Wisconsin in the conference championship game.

Schlabach & McMurphy (ESPN) as well as Sporting News, all have OU vs LSU in New Orleans projected. Sports Illustrated has OU-UF in the Sugar. Palm (CBS Sports) hasn't updated his projections yet.

It is not all that unlikely OU moves into the final 4 if they win out. This time a year ago ant the year before Michigan St and Ohio State were about this far back. OU needs 3 things in addition to good wins against West Virginia and OSU.

1. Need Washington to lose 1. They have 3 games left including on road rivalry against ranked WSU and possible title game USC in Santa clara.

2. Need Houston to beat Louisville or Clemson to have bad loss in ACC title game.

3. This one is the toughest . Need Ohio State to win big 10 convincingly or lose next 2 games mich st and mich. Big 10 winner is in. They key would be not letting 2 big 10 teams in and 2 loss Ohio St probably has advantage over 2 loss OU because of head to head.

Those 3 things happens and OU has an impressive win in a top 10 bedlam match-up with conference title on the line on championship Saturday and they are probably in playoffs.

And... they fell into the top 4 still.
