Fact or fiction: Did Florida fizzle the most down the stretch. Per rivals

Farrell’s take: FACT. It’s a tough call between Florida and Oklahoma for me but with their home-state advantage I feel that the Gators should have done more. They whiffed down the stretch on numerous key players and losing
Terrion Arnold(I don’t buy that he was dropped) was the cherry on the top. Yes Oklahoma missed on some huge names but many were out of state.

Gorney’s take: FICTION. Florida had a higher-ranked recruiting class than Oklahoma and despite finishing with an impressive three five-stars, it could have been wildly better for the Sooners down the stretch. Oklahoma missed out on five-stars
Emeka Egbuka,
Bryce Foster,
Tristan Leighand
Camar Wheaton. For a while, it didn’t feel like a stretch that Foster, Leigh and Wheaton would end up in the class. To win national championships, closing down the stretch is huge and the Sooners didn’t get it done in 2021, although the class is still very strong.

Weigman and LJ info

My son is on a group chat with Weigman and a bunch of other 2021 and 2022 athletes. Word is Weigman is now heavily leaning to the Aggies and has made comments about committing soon even.

He also played with and knows LJ (who is also in the chat) and he most likely goes to the Aggies too.

Take all this for what it is....a teenager passing on gossip, but it seems like a pretty decent source to me.

Friday Notes...

Was going to start Scoop with this but from one of my sources, it won't wait and as I've said, Scoop is going to have to for a little bit here...

So there’s no place to start other than the rumors swirling around Auburn transfer Big Kat Bryant.

It’s funny, on Wednesday it felt like the odds were slipping for Oklahoma and Bryant but almost from the moment it became clear that Tennessee, under Josh Heupel, would not be retaining Kevin Steele after just a few weeks on the job as the Vols defensive coordinator it felt like the wheels began to turn quickly.

To the point that Scoop got a heads up on Thursday afternoon that looked a lot like the GIF that Jamar Cain has made quite popular in Sooner recruiting circles.

So as Scoop checked around on Friday morning to see what movement had been made there was a simple reply to one of his questions about Bryant.

“Soon.”

So, I think it’s safe to say there is some confidence around Norman that Oklahoma will be bringing in it’s fourth former SEC player in the matter of a few weeks and should be doing so perhaps at some point today or through the weekend.

Mods, why hold info?

Not bashing you, but curious what the reasoning is for saying “I’ll tell you more later”. Carey mentioned it in the Wanya Morris thread about revealing more in the podcast, Josh mentioned it in the Ford post of I can’t say everything right now... At what point do you just lay it all out there in a single post?

Why is Lincoln carrying so much of the burden for the football program?

Been wanting to make this thread for a while but if anyone has any information on why our head coach is also chief of recruiting, the QB coach, the offensive coordinator, and play caller on top everything else please explain. I’m starting to think he’s not Superman and can’t do this all by himself. Why do we not have a better support staff in place to help?
