LSU v. Texas’s. Who Are You Rooting For?

I see a lot of posters on the Scoop wanting the horns to win simply because they want Tito Tom and his boys to be as highly rated as possible when we stomp their ass in October. I would love to see LSU roll their ass in week two and stop all of this “we’re BAAACCK” BS. I live in Austin and am sick and tired of hearing this rhetoric. Unlike some, I want to see texas lose every game they play. Am I wrong in this assessment?

OT: $EC Meltdown Weekend Alert

We all know the featured games this week. UT vs LSU, A&M vs Clemson, and surprisingly Tennessee vs BYU has become a story line. It would be a bigger meltdown than last week as two of the better teams in the SEC would have lost early. I would love to hear the meltdown on ESPN and the Finebaum show if that happens. On a separate note, the more $EC teams lose, the more the recruiting narrative will starts to change hopefully swinging momentum in our direction as we expand our efforts in the South for elite players.

2019 Sooner Survivor Series - Week 1

It’s time to get started with our sixth year of the Sooner Survivor Series - the annual Big 12 Survivor Pool.

The rules are simple:

---(READ THIS ONE CAREFULLY, AGAIN) as there are only 10 Big 12 teams we always spend the end of the year filling out the regular season schedule. Well, to keep me from hating my life while filling out 500+ winners (until my upset comes in) we’re going to do it in reverse. The first four weeks will be picking ONE winner from three hand picked games around college football. You don’t need to pick the winner of each, you simply pick the winner of ONE of the three games. If you’re right, you advance, if you’re wrong, your season ends early.

---Starting in week five, you’ll pick one Big 12 team each week that you think will win that week's game. If your team wins, you advance to the next week. When a team you picked loses, you are eliminated from the competition. Remember you ARE NOT picking against the spread, these are straight up win/lose scenarios.

---Once you've picked a school, you cannot pick them again the rest of the season. This means you have to pick carefully and assess for things like bye weeks, matchups, etc.

---There are no byes for participants. In other words, you have to pick a team every single week. You have to watch later in the season to make sure you have a team to pick every week, because if you get into a situation where every team you have left is on a bye week and can't pick a team, you'll unfortunately be eliminated.

---Also, you MUST have your picks in before the first game on the docket (it will always be the first game listed below).

--- If anyone (or multiple people) can make it all the way through 14 weeks without losing, we'll use the bowl weeks as tie-breakers.

If anyone has any other questions, please feel free to write them below!

And now, here are the options for Week One.

Every Big 12 team is playing this week so the entire league is fair game. Remember, once you pick a team, you can't pick them again the rest of the season. And when you pick a losing team, you're out. Good luck to everyone!

With Josh saying that 2020 probably isn't a top 10 class...

and saying that it's "not going as well as some have hoped," what are your thoughts? I'm sure there will be some smart-ass remarks, but personally, I think it's somewhat concerning considering where we have finished three out of the last four years.

Let's face it...there's a reason Alabama, Tosu, Clemmy and Georgia are right up there with us, and it's the talent they haul in yearly. It's so important we keep up with these guys; the last thing we want is to fall behind.

We seem to have it all: a young energetic coach, top notch facilities, and multiple playoff appearances. So...what's missing?

Is this just a blip on the radar, or is there a problem here?

My thoughts on Rattler QB1

Definitely think he’s a good kid and hell of a football player, but I think he needs to work on some of his intangibles like being a good teammate and leader. Seeing him get frustrated with his back up and telling everyone ON CAMERA that he sucks and then explaining why he sucks to him is kinda shitty. Then after losing a drill he says that their wide receivers suck. I’m sure he’ll be playing a different tune after this initial season. Like I said though, I think he’s a good kid just little bit of shithead like the rest of us were at that age. I know I was. I’m excited to have him on the team because one thing that does come through on this show is that the kid can ball and he’s all about competition.

Rattler QB1 - Family on suspension

Just forwarded through all the episodes following Rattler's ineligibility. The reasons why Spencer Rattler lost his eligibility were never revealed. His father, Michael Rattler did make a statement about it:

"I've heard all kinds of rumors and 98% of them are wrong. Okay? So I'll just put that out there. It's a private thing, we're going to keep it that way," said his father.

"He made a mistake and he's moved on. But he did not hurt anyone. There's no crime. There's nothing on his record. There's nothing on his school record," added his mother Susan Rattler.

"He was not doing drugs at school. He was not having sex at school. All this stuff is dumb," said Michael Rattler. "If it was just some kid that didn't have this profile, you never would have heard about any of this. But this is something he has to learn is that he has this platform now and with that platform comes responsibility."

Added Spencer Rattler:

"Really just felt bad letting my parents down. That's what really hit me. My dad and mom put so much effort and money and time into me. It kind of embarrasses the family. And it let my team down. That was big."
