OT: Hee hee hee, Texas looks so desperate, yet they think they’re “ back”and think they’re owed

Did anyone see Herman head butting players, pregame. They had their helmets on and he was bareheaded. He was butting them hard.

Really looked weird. He butted 3 or 4 of them. I’ve watched him, for the last several games, and have a hard time getting a read on him. There’s something not normal or he’s trying to hard in a contrived kind of way.

I guess I shouldn’t enjoy their difficulties so much, but I can’t help myself.

Right now, they’re providing the ass in an ass kicking contest and I love it.

Camar Wheaton

A 2021 recruit and one that has been to campus a few times I think.

So while he’s up to more than a year from committing I want to get a sense of our chances. Like everyone else I await the next coming of AD. Hasn’t happened yet, that dominant RB, but I can hope.

Coming to campus multiple times has to be a good sign. Up here in the tundra I never hear anything about Texas recruits.

Monday Morning Idiot: Baylor

So much to get through here...

HOW DO I GAUGE the first half vs. the second half?

What was Baylor doing on offense in the first that had so much success? Were they executing that well or was OU THAT bad.

Offensively, what was happening on the offensive line?

There was a feeling the secondary was awful but Charlie Brewer barely completed 60% of his passes. Take Denzel Mims out of the equation? He'd have been 12-23 for 102 yards.

One thing that still bothers me

Has anyone asked Lincoln about clock management at the end of the game? Let's pretend Baylor scored on their last drive and won the game; think about how much Lincoln would be getting criticized right now. The narrative would change from I am so proud of how much they fought and the adjustments that were made and go back to "I think Lincoln is in over his head."

I was one of the few staying positive throughout most of that game, but I think this is a legitimate question to ask and something that should be addressed. When we were down to 3 minutes, no one was telling Jalen to run the clock and we weren't playing to burn any time. I understand we want to make sure we score, but whether we score, or fail to score, we still want the least amount of time on the clock for Baylor after. Either we win, or Baylor has no time and we go to OT. We hiked the ball 3 times with 10-15+ seconds on the play clock. If you just run the clock down on those plays alone, we could have taken close to a minute off of the clock when Baylor got it back.

OT: What's your take on the Astros stealing signs....

I can tell you in travel ball and college we tried picking pitches every series/game. We tried to gain a competitive advantage over the pitcher every chance we had.

However, using a CCTV to relay the signs to the dugout is weak. There are specific rules around this and just to blatantly do it? (Hello Spygate!) Check out the video breakdown below.

OT: Sellout streak at Notre Dame ends at 273 games

Link 2 (cfb subreddit w/ interesting comments)

Glad it's not just us... a quote from the 2nd link that sticks out to me:

"It's funny that they try to blame waning interest on a lack of wifi in the stadium, and not other very real issues like the fact that the game day experience has gotten much worse over the years due to commercialization and skyrocketing ticket prices. And yeah, the olds don't help matters either."

To me, you could insert a number of things into "lack of wifi in the stadium" as strawmen for the real issue (which to me is a raucous environment that's actually enjoyable to be at):
-more distractions on the video board during game breaks
-song of the game
-have students do a dance off competition on the big screen
-the chik fil a field goal challenge
-way too much riff raff on the field before the team runs onto the field
-and on and on
-also while i'm bitching can we not play the other school's fight song before the game? FFS.

-Fix the gameday tailgating experience. (i.e. allow it in a concentrated manner around the stadium).
-Tone down the in game cheesiness (i do like recognizing long time season ticket holders, vets (when not overdone), and other OU teams).
-Find "in game distractions" that are unifying. there are plenty of stadiums that play the same song at the same time in the game, every game.
-Build a rewards program that rewards students & season ticket holders alike for staying into the 4th quarter. We already get tickets scanned on the way in, so I'm sure that can get tracked on the way out.
-Allow student groups (not necessarily a registered org, just if you can get x # of people) of at least 25 (or whatever number) to have reserved block seating in the student section

If this is the issue that turns me into an old, then i am prepared to die on this hill!
Thanks for listening to me yell at the clouds. i'm 99% sure i'm going to write Joe C a letter detailing my proposal this offseason. normally i wouldn't, but the in game atmosphere is something i care a lot about and the ISU was a low point.

Golding vs Grinch.......You Decide!

Now looking back at the Grinch hire over Golding (even though I believe Golding turned us down), which guy would you rather have? While Golding can make the argument that injuries have hurt them, they are absolutely loaded with talent. Im going to keep this as bias free as possible but it’s hard to imagine a situation where Bama’s backups in their secondary wouldn’t be sure fire starters in our current lineup. Thoughts?

One of the craziest things about last night

That Brooks run late in the game where no one touched him for 40 yards.

Iowa state was sitting so hard on hurts and him Throwing that they didn’t even bother to keep tabs on Brooks.

amazing late in the game that it was that predictable and that they were sitting on a hurts pass or scramble.

our offense doesn’t help our defense and our offense Doesn’t even know what they are. And it’s game 9!

Is it the heavy personnel that is our kryptonite?

How did we get figured out so quickly on D?

The blitzes aren’t timed right and rarely get home which is also concerning.

Murray is ok but he’s not flying around like he was the first 6 games.

only thing I can think of is that ISU and KSU like to go with heavy sets, extra blockers, and tall receivers.

And why in the F can’t we tackle these dudes like we did Devurnay.

offense shares plenty of blame too for keeping the D on the field all second half.

my only other conclusion is that JMT is worth 21 pts/game
