Best Player OU Has Brought In During The Transfer Portal Era...

This will be interesting to get different takes from people...

I believe by the end of this year, the answer will be simple... Mr. DEZ MALONE! This obviously assumes he stays healthy the rest of the year.
He is a tough physical dude on the outside that can play man to man, zone and doesnt mind hitting. He has single handedly locked down 1 side of the field through 3 games. Now, Saturday will be the test as Tenn has some dudes on the outside. I look forward to the match up.

P. J. Adebawore

I’ve been a little disappointed that PJ has not made much of an impact so far. I knew he’d only played very little football before college, so Year 1 was a development year, but still, I’ve been a little disappointed. I went back and looked at his class. He was the #2 edge rusher in the class. Of the top 10, only one has made any impact. Some haven’t played, and the ones that have played sparingly. Only TJ Parker at #7 has done anything. So, it just shows it’s not an OU issue. It’s happening with just about all of the top guys. It just needs time.

Jackson Arnold reality vs perspective

Perspective: JA was the top ranked dual threat coming out of HS. Majority of Sooner fans were excited to see Gabriel to retire from football because the next legend was watching from the sidelines.

Reality: JA is playing in his first full season of being the "Chosen One" at one of the best QB producing Colleges in the nation.
Some of the best QB's struggled at the beginning of their career. A great recent example is Quinn Ewers during the beginning of his career at Texas. I thought he was absolutely horrible but look at his progress now, he is a damn good QB, that has a great opportunity to be a NFL caliber QB. I believe JA is better than Quinn, he just needs a stronger supporting cast around him before we can see his full potential .

In Game Analysis Of The Offense...

End of Q1 Update...
7-0 OU! Boomer!

Halftime...
21-6!
Offense is efficient. No passes attempted 15 yards down field. Everything for the most part is a 1 read for JA, still lots of RPO. Against Tulane, that is ok but against SEC teams that wont work. Of Arnold's 8 passes in 1st half, 17 were 1/2 or 1/3 of field reads. only 1 pass was a complete read of field before releasing to Barnes on swing pass...that was behind hind. Again, against SEC defenses, this will not win games.

Love the fact that Tatum is touching the ball more today. He is best weapon on O as of now, feed him the rock!

In second half, love to see some seam throws from Arnold.

Lastly, O Line is holding up well. There are definitely throwing lanes and a pocket to play from.

End of Q3...OU scores ZERO. Tulane back in ball game. True freshman from Tulane passing better than the 5 Star from Denton. 5 star continues to show warts. He isnt what we thought we were getting...so far.

Q4 is going to be interesting.
Not a great start by the 5 Star in Q4.
Pick 6!
Arnold continues to drop his eyes under pressure. He isnt our guy!
6 wins in 2024 is in question.
Moderators on this Board that have been puffing smoke....not sure what to post here after another sub par effort in Norman.

Thank God for the Defense. Otherwise, this is a loss!

This team couldnt win the Big 12 let alone compete at a high level in SEC.

Reality check people.

Yeah Team, we beat Tulane. For teh unicorn and rainbow group on the forum I am sure you are happy. For those of us that expect to be competitive for rings, this is just bad.

Now we get to watch LIB U in Austin on the same channel wax UTSA.

Maybe Parker has a point…

The Oklahoma defense has not given much on the ground this year. Now, it isn’t like OU has played any world beaters either but, if they can do it again next week and put all the weight in Nico’s shoulders (or arm) do we trust the secondary enough to make plays or to at least stop a few big plays? Possibly allowing the few remaining healthy playmakers that the OU offense has to squeak by with a W?

I’m not always cynical but, I do consider myself a realist. I don’t see it happening but, I like some of you, have hope.

Tread lightly on the Vol board

Got banned at Vol Football Forum @ Volnation. Posted 3-weeks ago that I was looking forward to the game along with a few comparative team stats. Trolling? Maybe a bit, but this was a hilbilly nuclear explosion. Look at it, don't look at it, like it, hate it, I don't care but it is some damn fine delineation of much, not all, of the Vol fanbase. A couple of other Sooners chimed in, not many.

It won't be hard to find my thread. Remember, if you don't like long, or sarcasm/satire/irony, stay away.
