GAME NOTES

• Attendance for Saturday’s game at Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium was 83,874, marking OU’s 144th straight sellout of an originally scheduled home game, dating back to the start of the 1999 season. It is the nation’s second-longest current streak.
• Oklahoma improved to 80-27-6 (.734) all-time vs. Kansas.
• Oklahoma has won its last 18 games against Kansas, all by a double-digit margin. It is OU’s longest active winning streak against an opponent.
• Oklahoma has scored at least 34 points in each of the last 14 games against Kansas. It is the longest such streak in school history.
• Oklahoma has won 30 of its last 32 home games, and nine straight home contests vs. Kansas.
• The Sooners have won 11 straight games when entering that contest with a 3-3 overall record. The streak dates back to 1923.
• OU improved to 84-5 since the start of the 2012 season when scoring at least 35 points and to 73-3 when scoring at least 40.
• The Sooners have won six of their last seven regular season games when unranked (going back to 2009).
• The Sooners have outscored the Jayhawks 797-280 in those 18 contests (average of 44-15 adnd have outgained them 9,118 yards to 5,127 (average of 506-284). OU has won the last nine meetings by a combined score of 452-154 (50-17 average).
• Oklahoma’s 701 yards of total oense (403 passing, 298 rushing), were its most against a conference opponent since gaining 702 vs. Oklahoma State in 2018 and its most overall since totaling 733 vs. South Dakota in 2019. Today marked the 14th time in school history that Oklahoma has gained at least 700 yards of total oense.
• OU’s 403 passing yards were its most since passing for 469 yards last year vs. Texas Tech.
• The Sooners ran 100 oensive plays on Saturday. It was the 12th time in school history OU ran at least 100 oensive plays and the first time since 2014 (102 plays vs. Iowa State). The school record is 107 plays, set vs. Oklahoma State in 2010.
• Jovantae Barnes and Eric Gray each had two rushing touchdowns in the game. It was the first time OU has had two players score multiple rushing TDs against an FBS opponent since 2015 when Joe Mixon and Samaje Perine each had two rushing scores vs. Oklahoma State. Two Sooners (Jaden Knowles and Todd Hudson) each had two rushing TDs last season vs. Western Carolina.
• OU produced two 100-yard receivers (Marvin Mims [106] and Brayden Willis [career-high 102]) in a game for the first time since last season vs. Texas Tech (Mims had 135 yards and Mario Williams had 100 yards).
• The Sooners converted 16 of 21 third downs in the game (76%) and their lone fourth down.
• Oklahoma 487 first-half yards (304 passing, 183 rushing) were its second most ever in a single half. The school record is 507 against Missouri in 1986 (also the first half). OU outgained KU (231 total yards) by 256 total yards in the first 30 minutes today.
• Oklahoma’s 278 yards of total oense in the second quarter represents the fifth most total oensive yards gained in any quarter in school history, and the second most in the second quarter (most in second quarter was 292 yards vs. Tulsa in 2015).
• Today’s contest marked the first time since 1992 (and first ever in Norman) that OU and KU faced each other when the Jayhawks were ranked the AP poll and the Sooners were not.

INDIVIDUAL NOTES

RB JOVANTAE BARNES


• Scored rushing touchdowns on plays of 1 and 6 yards, and finished with 69 rushing yards on 21 carries.
• He is the first OU true freshman running back with multiple games of at least two rushing TDs since Samaje Perine in 2014.

DB C.J. COLDON

• Registered his second interception in as many games with a one-handed tip catch in the second quarter. It was his second i
nterception
this season and the fourth of his career (had two INTs in 2020 at Wyoming). Also notched two solo tackles in the game.

QB DILLON GABRIEL
• Completed completed 29 of 42 passes for 403 yards and two touchdowns, and rushed 10 times for 37 yards and a score.
• Has 13 passing touchdowns this season (83 in his career) and three rushing TDs this season (11 in his career).
• This was his first 400-yard passing game this season (fifth career) and his second 300-yard passing game this year (15th career).
• Had 304 passing yards on 21 of 29 completions in the first half, and was the first OU QB since Jalen Hurts in 2019 to pass for 300 or more yards in a first half (Hurts had 308 vs. Texas Tech).
• Has thrown at least one touchdown pass in 31 of his 32 career games. The lone exception was at TCU (10/1) when he left the game with 9:39 left in the second quarter due to injury.
• Threw 167 consecutive passes this season before his first interception, which came in the third quarter. His 167 pass attempts without an INT were the most by a player to start an OU career and the third most consecutive passes without an INT in school history (Baker Mayfield had streaks of 200 and Jason White had 194).

RB ERIC GRAY

• Rushed for 176 yards and touchdowns of 2 and 28 yards on 20 carries (8.8 average). It was his most rushing yards as a Sooner.
• Now has five rushing TDs this season and seven at OU (15 rushing TDs in his career overall). This was his fourth 100-yard rushing game of the season.

WR MARVIN MIMS

• Led the Sooners with 106 yards on a career-high nine receptions (11.8 average). His seven first-half catches were the most by a Sooner in a first half since 2018 (Marquise Brown had seven receptions at West Virginia).
• He now has 101 career receptions for 1,857 receiving yards. He is the 25th Oklahoma receiver to register at least 100 career catches, and ranks 12th at OU in receiving yards. His average of 18.4 yards per reception currently ranks second in school history (highest average is 19.0 by CeeDee Lamb).

K ZACH SCHMIT

• Made a 37-yard field goal in the fourth quarter and converted all seven of his PAT attempts in the game.
• Has converted four straight field goal attempts, 6 of 7 this season and 7 of 8 in his career.
• Has converted all 35 of his career PAT attempts.

WR DRAKE STOOPS
• Registered a career-high four receptions for 43 yards.

LB DANNY STUTSMAN

• Logged seven tackles (six solo) and 2.0 tackles for loss. He has tallied at least seven tackles in six of seven games this season and at least 2.0 TFLs twice (had 4.0 TFLs vs. Kent State).

LB DAVID UGWOEGBU

• Finished with a team-high-tying eight tackles, which included one sack and 2.0 tackles for loss, as well as one QB hurry.
• Has led the team in tackles in three of the last four games and has 43 tackles over those four contests.

WR THEO WEASE

• Registered his third touchdown reception of the season and ninth of his career on a 24-yard play in the second quarter. Finished the
game with 56 yards on four catches.

LB DASHAUN WHITE

• Tied for the team high with eight tackles and made his first career interception on a play in the third quarter. His eight stops were a personal season high.

TE BRAYDEN WILLIS

• Registered a career-high 102 yards and a 26-yard touchdown catch on five receptions. It was his first career 100-yard receiving game (previous high was 81 two weeks ago at TCU). His five receptions tied a career high (also had five vs. Kansas State).
• Has five touchdown receptions this season and 11 in his career.
