Patty Gasso has bolstered her catcher depth, which was really the only question defensively going into 2024.

This is her bio from the Furman Softball website. It only includes her 2020-2022 stats, but she was an All-Region honoree in 2023. She hit .372 with 10 dingers and drove in 42 runs last year. Each of those stats would have ranked 6th on last year's National Championship roster. She'll fit right in.

2022: A first team All-Southern Conference selection... Batted .279 while pacing the Paladins with 15 doubles, seven home runs and 35 RBIs as a junior... Registered 54 starts between shortstop at catcher... Doubled twice and drove in three runs in the series finale at Mercer... In the next game, blasted two homers and drove in all three runs in a 3-2 win over Charleston Southern... Belted a walk-off homer in a 10 game one victory and doubled and drove in three runs in game two of a sweep versus Western Carolina.

2021: Made 40 appearances, all of them starts, primarily at shortstop and behind the plate... Hit .302 with 38 hits, 11 doubles, two triples, five home runs and 29 RBIs.

2020: Started in all 26 games as a freshman, earning time at seven different positions... Fashioned a .263 natting average with four doubles, three homers and 12 RBIs... Posted a .978 fielding percentage... Totaled six multi-hit games... Hammered two home runs and drove in four in collegiate debut versus Ohio.
