OT: New 65" TV on a budget

So I need a new TV, consensus amongst all the folks I ask is to go with a Samsung. Then you find out there are twenty different versions. I'm not looking to spend a $1000. So somwhere between $500-$750 (yes I'm a poor).

Anyone bought one recently any good info you would share??
