Part of growing up in small town southwest Oklahoma is that I never had much access to a lot of alternative/pop/punk/rock growing up unless a friend's sister brought something back from college. I was infatuated with R.E.M. growing up. Also a band called the Plimsouls. Grew up listening to plenty of Zeppelin, Who, Rush at one of my best friend's house up the street.
But I am just now discovering Killing Joke who is most known for being the band Nirvana ripped off for Come As You Are. But damn, this band is really good and I like them more and more as I keep listening.
Love Like Blood is probably their most accessible song.
Eighties is the song Nirvana ripped off.
