Product of the weird year or serious Bama Fatigue? Perhaps something like this is enough to get the wheels turning on moving to an 8 team playoff. Either way, I hope college football makes some changes to keep the popularity high. I personally am not sure why they don't find a way to have the game on a Saturday, I imagine they could have an agreement with the NFL to keep a slot open for them so they did not have to go head to head with a playoff game.
