Dominick McKinley is one of the top remaining uncommitted prospects still on the board in the Mid-South region with plans to commit this weekend.
At one point, LSU seemed like the team to beat. Then OU made a surge. Texas bolted up the race and was, in my view, the leader in the clubhouse as recently as this past weekend.
But the latest intel that I’ve gathered is that OU and Texas A&M are the two battling it out for the blue chip Louisiana defensive lineman. The Aggies side of things have confidence that they’ve been able to push the right buttons to get out in front. But there are reasons for the Sooners to feel good, too, starting with Todd Bates and David Stone.
I give a slight edge to the Aggies as of tonight. But it’s slight and I believe that a final decision hasn’t been made just yet.
But a pairing of Stone and McKinley would obviously be very salty. Not to mention Nigel Smith still very much in play ahead of his September commitment.
