UPDATED: Ronnie Perkins is in sweats and is not going through pregame warmups with the team. He will not play tonight.

We had this confirmed middle afternoon literally right after my update on the board. Perkins has won an appeal that just happened this week. Up until that point there had been no appeals on his behalf. But this one was tried and it worked. OU felt Perkins had a special case that warranted an appeal. The NCAA agreed and he was given the waiver. This happened late in the week.
So that's why he's got a chance to play and traveled with the team.
I can tell you this, there is a chance Perkins could play tonight. But a lot of people are doubtful that will happen. It's a little bit out of OU's control whether he plays or not. That's all I can say at this time.
What I can tell you is he will be cleared to play next week against Texas. So Perkins will be back for the Red River Rivalry.
There are a lot more details I would like to get into, but I just can't yet. That could come soon though.
