Obviously, the Sooners need an OC and QB coach and with his knowledge of the same system OU is running right now, it makes a ton of sense. Especially, with Josh Heupel being the decision-maker and supposed play caller at Tennessee.
Now, I want you all to know that no one has said much outside of that regarding Halzle, but the fact it was brought up to me piqued my interest and I wanted gauge how the board felt as well.
The fact he was at OU with Demarco Murray and Joe Jon Finley as well, and Brent Venables was the DC during his time in Norman, there is some sense there if the contract buyout isn’t too much and if he would have some interest in the job as well.
As of now, we are still hearing other names more prominently but just throwing this out there with a source being pretty emphatic about the fit.
