I've read on this board before that Saban "processes" players; i.e., he gets rid of players that disappoint him in order to bring in more promising replacements. I was speaking to a friend about it and imagined Saban telling a player "you will never play another down of football here" , to which my friend replied "it's to be expected that players that disappoint leave on their own, in order to play elsewhere". Now I know that players like Trevor Knight transfer in order to play, and good for them. However, I interpreted what I've read on here to mean something else, that Saban will treat players in ways that other coaches will not, and I understood Bob was different in that regard from Saban. If true, I would appreciate someone who knows to explain the difference. Thanks.
