After beating Oklahoma state... all that I have heard all week is Osu fans talking about OU fans not being "true fans" cause they "didn't go to school there".
So as sooner fans...what are 5 things you consider to make a fan a "True Fan"
Here are mine:
1. Loyalty
Don't be jumping around to different teams. Just because bama won a couple titles and you like Oregons colors shouldn't make you stray from BLEEEEEEEDING Crimson and cream.
Never cheer for your rival...unless it directly effects your teams success(could move into national title contention, could win the conference title with a rivals win, etc) because being slightly hopeful that Baylor loses to Texas and gives OU a conference championship there is nothing wrong with that...cause a year later you won't be saying "man I wish Baylor woulda beat Texas in that game!" But you will be saying "dang we shoulda won that big 12 title!" Otherwise fvck Tex@$$!
2. Do your ABSOLUTE best to support your team
Grandma died and her funeral is Saturday at the 11:00am kickoff....ok... Understandable.
2nd cousin Jeff dies by chocking on a croissant and his funeral is on OU-Texas weekend...maybe cousin Jeff shouldn't have been such a woman and instead powered that puss boy food down like a man!
3. I better hear a Sooner!
Almost exclusive to our fan base
When you see a fellow sooner wearing an OU shirt on a random day away from a normal area for sooner fans...you better freaking give a "BOOOOOOMER!!!!" and he better give a "SOOOOONER!!!".
4. Know some facts
Ya need to Atleast know who your coach is and many of the starters...I know some not as hard core as us wouldn't know some lineman and a kicker but ya better know the main ones.
Ya need to know your history....Atleast how many national titles and and how many Heisman Trophy winners you've had. Need to know your teams "greats". Lee Roy Selmon may not have won a heisman but the guy cleaned up on awards and was one of the best ever to play at OU...if ya don't know him YOURE NOT A TRUE FAN!
5. All weather fan!
Fair weather fans...don't need em...
When your team is down and not playing you better be supporting them. I'm not saying be content with what's on the field...you can b!tch and moan about who needs to be doing better and if we need to get new coaches. But too many times I've heard poke fans say dumb stuff like "until Gundy starts winning the big game I ain't watching!" That's as big of a b!tch fan as it gets. You rep that color and realize we are in rebuilding...even if the rebuild has to go through a Gibbs, Schnellenberger, and a Blake...theyre still your team!
