Woody Washington

Did Criddle play in 4 games, what about Ty DeArman, Jamal Morris, these were all 4 star guys in last years class.

we still have Mike Stoops trash needing to be shown the door...

As if Grinch is bringing in anything better. The headliner of this D class is a JUCO DT? Our ace D recruiter is lining them up for Clemson now....

There's simply no reason for optimism. Sorry, but keeping it real.

I’m leaning to your way of thinking but I’m only hesitant because I believe some recruits have taken a wait and see attitude toward Grinch’s defense. This and we’ve witnessed an improvement from last season. But this loss may have set his recruiting back at least one year

Woodi Washington was a bit of a disappointment this year. But with his small amount of playing time, if anybody thought he was going to come in and play well against that offense, they are being pretty unrealistic.

That was almost as hard to watch as the USC game after '04. But when I heard about all we were missing, and then lost Bookie during the game, I knew this was going to happen. We needed all hands on deck to even compete yesterday. Not close.

LIfe will go on. But we have a lot of catching up to do in talent. To compete at that level, we need a quarterback who can throw into tight windows, and a deeper receiving corps. OUr former walkon's can compete against most quality teams, but not at that level. And you need a little luck.

Ohio State is a better team than Clemson, but the Tigers got the break of Ohio State's rookie quarterback being immobile, which is his strength Then their other top ten Heisman guy on offense got hurt. It made a big difference. And the DC that OU ran off proved again to be the best in the country, even if they get beat in Nawlins.

Second biggest mistake of Bob Stoops era at OU, was not keeping BV as the play caller on defense. We're still playing catch up.

K9 is the only holdover from the Mike era that was top shelf D talent. There are a few guys tbd, but the rest are blah. BUT...we’re not rolling in 5-star D recruits this year either. So, we hope Grinch and Co. can coach up the new guys the way Coach B does with the O-line.

This year was the 1-year we could still blame Mike. Starting next season, it’s all on Grinch. I’ve heard the Scott Frost apologists in Nebraska still blaming Mike Riley deep into year 2, and it just sounds...sad.

There are consistent 4 star kids which fit the Grinch mold i.e. DB's that are 6 foot tall and taller...

You look at our corners and almost all of them are 5'10 or shorter...I think Grinch is going to get his style kid to fit the defense he wants...we need to be patient if we are filling some gaps with Juco's to speed the process up IMO

Bookies hit was iffy on targeting but unquestionably dumb. The QB was coming toward him, he saw him, and he tries to lay out a potential blocker?

Agree 100%. If he is hitting a runner leading with the shoulder like that and it’s probably not targeting. But you can’t blind-side players like that anymore, leading with the head or not, hitting their helmet or not.

He had a chance to go after the QB but instead targets an unsuspecting player. I just don’t get it.

I'm excited looking at the size of our DB's in this coming recruiting class, 5'11, 6'2, 6'3 and 6'3, let's just hope they can play!

Well he knew and was coached that that little running back is Burrow’s deadly relief valve, he did what he was supposed to do but I guess you have to do it much softer

I need to go back and watch the game but I thought Woodi had really good coverage on the first TD he gave up after that it was kind of a blur. I know we did have a busted coverage on the TD to Moss.I think Burrow was as good of a passing qb as we may see for many years

Last year’s haul was pretty decent. You just have to keep plugging away at it. There are better players coming up than those that were on the field.

Go to the 20 second mark and watch and tell me if you still think it was "iffy". He launched, led with his helmet, and made contact to his head. It looks pretty clear to me.

Bookie very well may be put on to special teams after these antics. Poor sportsmanship and definitely a poor football decision. He just seems too small and slow for the defensive starting spot.

Man I really hate to pile on the guy because he does seem like a nice kid, but he would not be starting for any of the other 3 playoff teams. I know he was a 5 star and everything but I just don't know if he should be out there in the starting lineup. It will be very interesting to see what happens with him next season

He should be told now that he will eternally ride the bench and if he doesn't like the idea, enter the transfer portal. There should be no place on the team for that kind of stupidity. That hit was the definition of dirty. I'd kick him off the team for it.

Well I don't think he is a dirty player but I agree that was a dirty hit. My guess is he probably thinks he can play one more year and then declare for the draft. Thats how dumb and unrealistic a lot of these kids are today

I don't think he's a dirty player per se, but something like that needs to carry consequence besides ejection from a game. He literally blew off pursuing the ball carrier in favor of delivering a dirty shot to a player that was not even a factor in the play.

A real head scratcher. Must have been one of Mike Stoops coaching tips. Get beat over and over then blast the blocker.

Well hopefully he will be reevaluated this off-season and his dumb decisions will be part of that process

Hopefully our whole secondary will be evaluated this offseason. Watching Tre Brown the other night on his ALMOST interception got me thinking about Charlie Sheen in that movie Wildthing when the coach got him fitted for glasses because his vision was off.

Riley should get Brown's eyes tested because he appears to have a severe depth perception problem. It's almost like he fights the ball while trying to catch it. On his near interception in the Peach Bowl, if you watch the replay he never even touched the ball. It went right through his hands and then right through the receivers hands and Brown couldn't believe he didn't catch it.

For all the turnover fan fare in preseason and speed defense, we sure could not gain much in those categories. LSU popped us in the mouth and most of time we just stood there and took it like sad sacks.
