*So there's been a lot of interesting chatter around Duncanville, Texas Rivals100 defensive lineman Omari Abor after his recent visits to Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Alabama.

Following his Ohio State visit I'd heard some buzz that perhaps the Buckeyes were slipping a bit as Nick Saban had been working hard to get Abor on board. And while he loved his visit to Tuscaloosa there was a feeling that maybe Alabama was masking the style they play up front as Abor has been pretty clear that he feels better in a 4-3 scheme.

"Oklahoma still has a shot here, he loves coach (Jamar) Cain," a source said.

And perhaps best of all there is already a plan in place for Abor to hit Norman and hang out with his cousin, newly added running back Tre Bradford, "to hang out with him and all the guys."

***One of the bigger in-state forecasts I've made recently was for Owasso, Okla. Rivals100 defensive lineman Chris McClellan.

I know that since his return from Columbus for last weekend's official visit he has spoken with the Sooners and while Oklahoma made their best pitch I just continue to hear rumors that Ohio State feels they've grabbed the lead and that he could 'commit any day now' and that 'it's a near certainty'.

Now obviously the more time that passes, the better for Oklahoma and believe me the Buckeyes are more than aware of that reality as they are pushing HARD to make sure he makes his choice soon.

Even if he makes the call don't be surprised if things stay interesting for the foreseeable future.

****A guy who surprised a lot of people with his visit to Norman last weekend was Mustang, Okla. 2023 star cornerback offer Jacobe Johnson.

While many were wondering if Johnson and the Sooners were in a weird spot following his absence from the ChampUBBQ he was simply engaged in a basketball team camp, at Oklahoma State, of all places.

"(The visit) was a last minute opportunity when I didn't have anything going on and I could come," Johnson said.

And the Sooners seem to have hit the right notes on their time around the ultra-talented and fast-emerging star Bronco.

"It was so awesome. It felt really really good. I finally got to meet everyone in person and they finally got to see me too."

...let's see is there anything I forgot?

OK, I'm kidding, I'm kidding. CALM DOWN!

*****What to make of the situation around Edmond (Okla.) Santa Fe Rivals100 wide receiver Talyn Shettron.

First off, I know many of you were wondering why I didn't comment and frankly it was because I kept waiting and waiting for something concrete to emerge. As the day wore on it became clear that wasn't going to happen.

What I can say? First off, the obvious...something is amiss. And it's not just about Shettron changing his Twitter page though that's a clear indicator but it's also the reality that a family that I've known for several years has gone quiet, gone underground on the topic. I want to be clear, I understand it and it's no criticism of them it's just very out of character for a group that has always been very open with me about what was going on.

From the Oklahoma side of things, I know conversations have happened between Talyn and the Sooners staff and I was told as of earlier this week 'he sounded pretty good' but no one is foolish enough to think nothing is happening. But the reality is the Sooners have not been informed of any departure.

After having spoken to multiple sources from different areas, there's been no word to much of anyone about Shettron changing his mind but again it's a tight-knit family and this may be all about things still being mulled over or simply waiting until the right time to announce things. Honestly, at this point, it's just not very clear.

The bottom line here is that Shettron is just going to have to make the choice of the school he chose over Oklahoma State (and many others) or if it's more important to play with his brother. I can see both sides but it was made clear to me that Oklahoma won't be making an offer to his brother simply to keep things on track with the nation's No. 5 receiver.
