By this time in November the last few years, OU hasn't been on the minds of the nation. Now, OU is part of every college football discussion. The best part of the season is the exposure for OU, but also of the state of Oklahoma. Yes, oSu is our little brother, but they too are a reflection of the state as well. I hope this weekend goes OUr way with a victory, but I also hope OUr fans, team, and the community reflect the class and good sportsmanship that I know them by.

Go Sooners! Play like champions.

It is certainly great to see OU being mentioned in the conversation this late in the year again. With that being said today while listening to the ESPN CFD show I don' t believe the path for OU is so clear even if ND loses to Stanford. They are playing the "What If' scenarios today and one that really disturbs me is also a real possibility. They were split over who is going to get the 4th spot if both OU and ND win out while everyone else does also then they brought up the scenario of what if Michigan State beats Ohio State then goes on to beat an undefeated Iowa team in the B10 championship.

This time they agreed they thought MSU would get the edge due to having a CCG and having to play that 13th game while OU sat at home idled. They did bring up a couple of good points because Michigan State would have wins over Oregon, Michigan (Albeit they should have lost that one if not for the stupid punter ) , and they would close with wins over highly ranked TOSU and Iowa. Now I know the brand name belongs to OUr team but I could actually see the committee once again punishing the B12 and leaving OU out in this scenario. In this scenario they are assuming that Alabama, Clemson and Notre Dame win out in the process.

Let's be honest here and say it, in this scenario MSU may be a bigger obstacle to OU than Notre Dame is at this point if this plays out this way. Will the committee (who has many B10 ties ) really leave out a B10 champ who with a 13th game and also closing against 2 highly ranked teams over Oklahoma who will have played only 12 games and closed out with the same type of schedule almost but yet Michigan State would have the edge because TOSU and Iowa are currently ranked higher than Baylor, TCU, or even OSU? Or does the name Oklahoma and the fact the Big 12 got left out last year get in?

Remember they won' t be able to use the "Bad Loss' argument because the Spartans lost to Nebraska who is equally as bad as Texas this season but I could see them dismissing that loss to NU easier because it was very controversial. I don't know about anyone else but I think we not only need to win out but we also need Stanford to beat ND and hope Iowa stumbles to either Nebraska or Purdue. I am far from having that feeling that "OU is in " if they win out.
