Listening to podcasts, guys are assuming he came to bet on himself and compete against Mateer and Hawkins for the starting job. I don’t think that was the pitch nor his motive. The obvious realistic ideal scenario for Whitt is this:
Come get paid to spend a redshirt year developing under Arbuckle and transfer somewhere next year with 3 years of eligibility left.
Sounds like a WAY better move than transferring now to another low-end school that he could compete for a starting job for. I think it’s brilliant.
