Oklahoma has made excuse after excuse for the collective poor defensive play under Mike Stoops. Players are told that to win a starting job each season you must go out and earn the right no matter what you did in the past. The same principle holds for coaching positions, nepotism is not a substitute for demonstrated on the field performance. If Lincoln Riley allows blind "Stoops loyalty" to reign above core principals to team excellence and performance, then he falls victim to a perverted logic that sacrifices everything he claims to stand for. If you want to be a National Champion, decisions like this are the "tail-of-the-tape" to how credible your claims actually are. This isn't a difficult decision, Mike Stoops needs to go!
