so here we are coming to the close of another adventurous big12 campaign with OUr sights set on a visit to jerryworld and this years opponent looking like lorbay. ut no where to be seen and unlike the thoughts of some on here, i think it is freakin fantastic. i've spent the past 2 hours perusing newspapers like dallas morning news, austin american statesman, houston chronicle, etc. and to a paper they have editorials with the same mantra...sorry sam but texass is NOT back. the resulting anger and confusion fuels much of the comments from disappointed whorn fans. eg: we have top recruiting classes year in and year out....our facilities are the best in the big 12 BY FAR...austin is fun and cool and full of hipsters so why aren't my cows not just beating EVERYbody, but ANYbody????? well i have some theories that mainly revolve around entitlement and pampering and sh*t like that. but to the cows its indeed a mystery that now extends a full decade. yes friends, ut has lost AT LEAST 4 games a year, every year, since they last won the big12 in 2009. so we have 13 trophies and they have how many? tell the audience steve. it's 3!!!! let THAT sink in. so here's my point. if you are a stud HS player looking at OU or tx your memory pretty much begins when you're about 8 or 9 right? so in all those years who's been favored in EVERY red river rivalry. who's usually top ten...or conference champ...it's OU. while the whorns continue to struggle, to argue, to blame, to justify...the football studs (especially in texas) are reading, hearing or seeing this sh*tshow. and have for a looong time. i'm actually surprised the kids choose texass really. must be $ome kind of a rea$on i ju$t dont under$tand

That article is packed with goodies!
Texas has lost 4 games for the 10th consecutive year.
Texas began the 2019 season right where Longhorns fans always expect them to be: ranked in the top 10 and ready for a run at the Big 12 title, maybe even the College Football Playoff. (I remember thinking at the time, the expectations were awfully high for a 9 year, 4 loss team.)
“Their (Baylor) season has been eerily similar to ours,” Herman said Monday, “other than they’ve been able to win those close ones.” (Except, we suck and BU doesn't).
The final two games on the schedule become a matter of pride, Herman said. And to start looking ahead to 2020. (Same song, different year).

How ‘bout them Huskers? Last conference championship was 20 years ago in 1999.

Wow. That's a really eye-opening way to look at it. Not even a conference championship in 20 years. Recruits have NEVER known Nebraska to have any success. Another 20, and they won't even have parents that remember any level of success. It'll be like reading colonial history.

Even though they didn't even win their division, the Huskers made the NC game in 2001. They got pounded unmercifully by one of Miami's best two or three teams ever.

Texas as a favorite, played Colorado in Texas Stadium in the CCG, but the Buffs won after leading big much of the game. Then Mack Brown finally played Major Applewhite and benched Chrissy Sims and Major almost led LH all the way back. But the Huskers barely made it in over CU, who had two losses before the bowls. The Huskers had only one.

Throw in the fact that Colorado beat Nebraska 62 to 36 on Black Friday. Still not sure how Nebraska ever got into that National Championship game.

Everybody but Miami and NU had two losses.
Oregon (who whipped CU in their bowl, fwiw), Illinois, & Maryland were all 1 loss conference champs at the end of the regular season. It was another interesting development in the system that year in that a 2 loss CU finished ahead of all those teams in the last regular season BCS rankings, largely due to their SOS.

That Herman head butt stunt is a sign of desperation from a coach who knows he’s probably gone. I just don’t see him lasting after this debacle. We should hope he does make it.

Damn those Horns they made a liar out of me. I said they would lose at least 4 but they had to go and lose 5. Thanks Herman for making a liar out of me. :)
...but but Sam said they were back. Rubs eyes Back to 500 that is and right there on the cusp of mediocrity. They will suck into a sub bowl and lose there too !!
