the #3 team in the land a 14 1/2 point underdog at home? Says a lot about two things; Bama is really, really good and LSU is overrated.
I think Bama covers easily.
Easily

Dam straight!I think that was big enough loss to allow OU to pass LSU in the polls.
Honestly, I would take OU over the Tigers on a neutral field.
We need Bama to beat Georgia in the SEC title game and then Michigan to lose to Ohio State. That would put us in the CFP against Bama. I like our match up against Bama.
I forgot to add that Michigan State beats Ohio State this weekend. Does that hitch our wagon? If Ohio State beats Michigan and wins the Big Ten, a one loss Ohio State would probably get in before OU based on beating a Top Five Michigan. OU probably won’t have that type of a quality win this year. Ohio State is likely to jump OU if they beat Michigan. If Michigan wins, well then it is probably going to be Bama, Clemson, ND and Michigan. IMO, we play Georgia in the Sugar if we win out

I am not sure the committee would take TOSU over OU unless they totally dismiss how bad Purdue beat them. Neither of our teams are great on the defensive side but the edge certainly is OUs offensively.
I think the only way they chose THE over OU is if they do it out “feeling pity” for Meyer and his illness. The bigger story thoughwould be Tua vs Murrayso I think OU would end up getting the bid.
I think OU would get in over a one loss OSU. They are not looking like a final four team.
West Virginia is a really good team isn't it?
WVU versus Michigan, who do you got?
I mean, everyone here is tossing a victory to OSU over Michigan without argument, so nobody can believe they're that good.
From what I’ve seen, I think Michigan beats Ohio State or West Virginia.
i'd say upper 30's is too much WNaS...problem is the CFP committee is mostly made up of old school dudes who like defense and even frown on high octane offense. they could give a cr*p about us outscoring any of the current top 4, but if we can slow down osu and wvu (low 30's?) that may be good enough if its b/w us and tOSUIf we continue to give up 30+ points... the committee will pass us up. That defense has to formulate a better game going forward.

As bad as our defense is it was as bad last season and we still gave Georgia all they wanted and in my opinion OU was the better team minus the D but theirs was not much better vs our O we just didn't finish. If OU makes the 4 team Playoff I like our chances against any the other 3 no matter who they are. We can score on anyone but as usual can we get the stops we need by the D to win. Also Riley needs to make better adjustments after the half, it seems the D steps up a little in the 2nd half and the O goes into a shell. That trend needs to stop if we want to win out and have a chance at the Playoffs. Time to man up!
Maybe I'm a pessimist where the CFP is concerned, but I'm thinking ND would have to lose two games for OU to overtake the Irish. A one-loss Irish team will be picked over a one-loss B12 Champ OU or WVU. I also think the Committee would take a one-loss B1G Champ tOSU or Michigan over OU.
Bama and Clemson are pretty sure bets for the CFP, looking at their schedules and potential Conference Championship opponents. Looking at the the rest of ND's schedule, they are a very likely to finish undefeated and make the CFP. I think it all comes down to who wins the B1G will determine if OU or WVU makes the CFP .
I'm thinking the B12 Champ (OU) gets UGA in the Sugar Bowl.
I tend to disagree for two reasons. (1) They would lose late in the season and (2) no conference championship game. OU beating a highly ranked WVU twice would trump ND beating Syracuse and a weak USC in the regular season.
I thought OU gets Iowa State in the Champ game if both of us win out.
WVU - 2 losses - OU and Iowa State
Iowa State - 2 losses - OU and TCU
Iowa State would have 3 losses total vs WVU's 2 total losses, but the conference game goes by conference record first, right? And Iowa State has the head-to-head against WVU.
Texas would end up with 3 conference losses - Iowa State, WVU, and OSU.
I'm confused.
