This could be football or other. I've always pulled for Tulsa University in both.

I always pull for, or least love watching Mike Leach's teams. Fun to watch....

I never root for the Irish. I somewhat root for OSU.

I really hate Slippery Rock....They win at everything..............HA!

I'm a closet (and hopeless) New Mexico State University Aggies football fan. I've been to games. I even purchased season tickets one year and never made it to a game. (Gave them away to family members). They didn't show up either. ;)

I don't always pull for Alabama but I have enjoyed watching them play all my life.
Also, watching Navy play....a team of true "student" athletes.
Stanford....style of play and also a team of "student" athletes.

NFL football is not nearly as important to me as CFB, but I like the Giants, the Texans, the Packers and the Broncos.

MLB baseball...Yankees are my favorite, and Houston is close behind. I am a baseball fan more than anything else and follow every team pretty much.

UConn womens basketball...the best job of coaching I have ever seen. Fundamentals, motivation and the "team first" attitude are unmatched.

The NHL and NBA are never a concern for me.

I pull for all the B12 teams, except for one. I like Iowa and Nebraska in the B1G and UGA in the SEC. Not much of an ACC or Pac 12 fan, so I guess I'd have to go with the hometown Ga Tech Yellow Jackets and Arizona in their respective conferences.

I never pull for texass, Miami or USC. I did pull for texass vs. USC in the MNC a few years ago, but that may have been it.

I always root against Notre Dame, USC, Miami, Ohio State, and Texas in that order. I don't like to use the word hate, but I make an exception for Notre Dame. I watch Alabama from a far, but don't root for them except when they are playing Auburn and LSU....it's in my DNA. I will always root for Nebraska because of all the great games we've had with them and I always enjoyed their fans, but damn it's getting hard to follow a loser. I hope they get their shit together before we play them again so when we kick their ass it will be meaningful like it use to be. Boomer.

Completely dislike NBA and actually think it's rigged.

I hear ya bro. I've made up excuses to turn down company Thunder tickets many times. I've had zero interest in the NBA since the 70's. I value a good night's sleep and being rested the next day vs. waking up dog-tired, wondering why I ruined a good day over an NBA game? That goes for weekends too.

Can't watch pro sports other than MLB.

Growing up in Baltimore, I'm a huge Orioles fan. Loved the Colts until they relocated to Indianapolis. Loved the Baltimore Bullets but none of the subsequent local versions.

Respect all the AL East MLB teams except for Toronto (Bautista and Encarnacion, being punks, are bad for the game, imho). Has anyone seen a more sissified HR trot than Encarnacion's?

Prefer college sports - FB, Baseball and men's BB. Love the Sooners and root for ALL Big XII teams in bowl games.

Do not like ND, Michigan, any SEC team (believe they've taken cheating to a new and professional level), Florida State, and any PAC-12 team.

Yep, I've seen your picture...I think it's called 'American Gothic'...;)

I earned (kinda) a degree at the University of New Mexico, so I secretly support them, even though I've been a lifetime fan of the Sooners in every sport. Back when we had enough money to buy good BB players for the Lobos, it was the good old days in The Pit; today, not so much ... in ANY sport.

I ALWAYS root against Notre Dame in every sport, even though I'm a Catholic (kinda). Can't stand the damn team. Probably dates back to the end of the 47-game streak under Bud.

Technically, OU is my "second" team (but a very close second) behind Army. I used to be a Notre Dame hater until my son married a nice young lady from South Bend. All other things being equal in CFB, I'll root for UCLA and Washington.

Like Schoonerman, I'm a Braves' fan. As far as the NFL, I watch it occasionally but don't have a favorite team.

Mavericks in NBA and most certainly on that Warriors bandwagon.

Packers in the NFL.

As for other cfb teams: Oregon State, Bama to an extent. This list had grown smaller every year.

I have been a Cardinal fan since before I knew that OU existed. I guess that I became an OU fan about 1953. I have been a Card fan since about 51 or 52 when they had some of the most colorful names in sports: Dizzy did radio, Country Slaughter was in left, Vinegar Bend and Harry the Cat were pitchers. I still follow the Cards although they are rarely on TV to watch.

I love to watch UConn women. Geno gets talent and coaches them to be better (unlike a lot of coaches who can only recruit). I love to watch the precision of their play, and I relish their championships (although I would want OU to beat them, but nobody else).

Another team that I love to watch is the Notre Dame women's basketball team under Muffet McGraw. They actually held an advantage over UConn until Breanna showed up, having won about four of six prior to her coming. They also play brilliant basketball with a bit less talent.

I like watching the Butler men's team play. They do a lot with very little talent.

I would say that I like to watch Urban and Saban's teams, except that it infuriates me when OU loses in football. I find it more difficult to be tolerant of someone else's competence.

Under Auriemma, UConn owns a 34-11 series record over Notre Dame, which includes wins in the last 5 games over ND all by double digit margins.
In UConn's 2012-2013 national championship season, ND beat UConn three times during the season and including the conference tournament only to lose to UConn by 18 points...83-65...in the NCAA Final Four.
Two other ND wins over UConn were in 2004 and 2005, against two of UConn's national championship teams.
ND's best wins (and very significant wins) vs UConn were in the 2001, 2011 and 2012 Final Four.

Sybarite,

Did you collect any Cardinals memorabilia - especially cards?

I'm a huge baseball card collector. Knowing you have cards from that early era would definitely make me salivate. If you have 'em, keep 'em.

A story......I once called on a grocery\clothing store in BlueJacket, Ok. They would take anything on trade. I once traded some grocery samples for some Cardinal baseball autographs. I know I have a Lou Brock, Bob Gibson and maybe a Curt Flood. I would have to go in the basement to see if I have more..... Yeah, they are real............

I had (not have) every baseball card made from 52-55, along with a complete set of Wings, about airplanes, and a lot of football and actor cards. I had so many duplicates of some baseball cards, like Al Kaline's rookie card, that I couldn't give them away. I used extras in the spokes of my bicycle and as target practice for a 22 rifle. But, you must remember that I was probably the only one around that bothered collecting them. I deliberately collected Wings and Topps Baseball. But, it wasn't a thing at that time. They were worthless.

I went away to college. My parents moved. Supposedly, my baseball cards ended up along with my other things in a shed at my grandmother's house. My father and aunt assured me that everything was there. There was absolutely nothing of mine in that shed. We never found any evidence of whatever happened to those cards or the rest of my stuff. I have zero, zilch, not one card. We did find some old pictures and grade school workbooks, but they were being kept by my mother, not as a part of my stuff.

Well, that blows chunks.
I distinctly remember buying Topps baseball cards at 6 or 7 years old. A nickle for five cards and a very dry piece of bubble gum. This would be about '56 or '57.
Also, I remember attaching them to my bike for the motor noise. (we were uh, cutting edge pacesetters there in Chickasha)
Could it be that I trashed a Mickey Mantle rookie card? Now worth 15K bucks?
Maybe, I'd like to think those were out there and not so available in 55 or 56.

You live, you learn. That's the deal.:D

My #2 team has always been UCLA. I got out of the army at Fort Ord and took a trip to UCLA to see if I wanted to go to school there. It didn't take me long to figure out I would spend more time out of class than in. It would have taken me 20 years to graduate.

Serious ouch! Those were amazing cards.

I feel your pain. My all-time favorite card set was the 1957 TOPPS.
