I should ask my Dad, a frosh in '54, who never "lost" a game until his senior year, the infamous Notre Dame game. I say "lost" meaning "as a student".
I had wondered, "undefeated until a senior?"... that means three rings, no? Well... no...
Let's harkon back to the autumn of '54 - when we were #1 on the morning of October 23rd:
Oct 23: beat KSU 21-0
Oct 30: beat @CU 13-7
Nov 6: beat @ISU 40-0
Nov 13: beat Mizzou 34-13
Nov 20: beat Nebraska 55-7 !!!
Nov 27: beat @ Okie St 14-0
Maybe this will bring out some "old-timers" who remember the sentiment. I've never really heard much about being screwed in '54... but we were definitely #1 in late October and never lost.
