A High School Football Field Somewhere
UPDATE: 7:05p - Just checked in with sources close to OU staff. They are feeling confident about their chances with less than 30 minutes before the announcement.

UPDATE: 6:26p -
Guys, I know about the tweet regarding Caleb Kelly leaning toward Notre Dame, but I've heard nothing either way since this morning. I think everyone is just left guessing because at this point, OU and Notre Dame can only talk to him if he calls (until he signs and they have his LOI).

As I've said for a few days, this thing is incredibly close and Notre Dame won't surprise but we'll see what happens.

UPDATE: 1:44p -
Looks like Velus Jones has signed his letter of intent with USC and we're all now just waiting until tonight with Caleb Kelly.

UPDATE: 12:35p -
Guys we're aware of a report out there, by a reporter we trust, Nate Feken, that Oklahoma offered Lexington, Okla. offensive lineman Tyler Brown. I've been told that is incorrect and that it's been several months since the Sooners had any contact with the Oklahoma State commitment.

It may have been a miscommunication but it looks to be incorrect either way.

UPDATE: 7:45a -
Oklahoma is still waiting on three-star defensive lineman Marcel Southall but our Orangebloods guys have a reporter on hand (they are unsure of the outcome as well) and I'm told that so far there are about eight guys set to sign today and I'm guessing they may wait for Southall to the end.

Also, he is wearing blue so hand isn't tipped as he chooses between Oklahoma, Texas, and Miami.

***I've talked to all the places I'd need to check and I feel very confident that Rivals100 wide receiver Mykel Jones will be picking the Sooners this morning. It seems as though a few schools may have popped up late but he has given the Sooners a lot of reasons to feel positive about things.

Maybe a MASSIVE shock happens but I don't see it at all, time for Oklahoma to get another late recruiting process surprise.

***Guys, I've talked to a few sources and it sounds like in spite of me being wrong, yesterday, about Oklahoma making the final two for Chris Daniels, it seems the final choice will be the same later this morning - Texas.

In the end I think that while his parents had a fondness for Diron Reynolds the younger Daniels just preferred the idea of Texas.

***This leads me into one of the more interesting stories here, Marcel Southall of Duncanville, Texas. Though I'd been under the impression that he has been a take, it seems that until Oklahoma got the same vibe we've been reporting for a week or so, that Texas would land Daniels, they weren't ready to send Southall a letter of intent.

This would mean that Oklahoma wasn't able to call and talk with Southall this week which would seem to make sense of a lot of the rumors of Texas making a move for him this week.

I'm still not sure what it means but it's the reason I picked Texas earlier this evening. The issue may be that Texas runs out of spaces for him so we'll have to see how that goes but even with my choice earlier tonight I think it's Oklahoma or Texas and I think it's pretty much a coin flip.

***As for the guy that most of you are wanting to hear about Caleb Kelly, I think the Sooners are still the leaders here but this thing is just so, so, so close. I think most are betting on the relationship between himself and Mike Stoops, and really the entirety of the Oklahoma coaching staff being the winning force here.

Unless I hear something new, I think we're all going to have to wait and see what happens late on Signing Day but I'm still picking Oklahoma as most I talk to feel his personal feelings about the program are going to be tough for the Irish to overcome.
