UPDATE: 12:48p - I've felt for a while that Oklahoma was out in front for five-star Fresno (Calif.) Clovis West linebacker Caleb Kelly but this news could really swing things for the Sooners...
Should Michigan, who is widely believed to be the Sooners primary competition, defensive coordinator D.J. Durkin take the Maryland job it's going to make it very tough for Michigan to stay in the thick of things for Kelly.
For those unaware Durkin is one of the country's best recruiters and the Wolverines linebackers coach.
Again this could be a very big bit of news for the Sooners.
UPDATE: 8:03a - I can now confirm that Simmons joined Stoops while they visited Richmond Foster - a program with some good young talent alongside Lamb.
ORIGINAL: *I checked around with some folks about Bob Stoops' journey through Houston and found two definitive stops, aside form Spring Westfield that we reported yesterday morning, he also made his way to Houston Episcopal to check on the country's No. 1 junior, defensive tackle Marvin Wilson and fellow Rivals100 Oklahoma offer Walker Little.
Wilson, as per rules, told me that he couldn't say much other than 'hi' and 'bye' to Stoops and Diron Reynolds but he was clearly excited about the visit.
*He also made his way over to Southwest Houston to check in on 2017 wide receiver offer Cedarian Lamb. I presume that visit was made with Dennis Simmons but haven't verified that part of it as of yet.
*An interesting rumor I was told is that Rivals250 linebacker Elysee Mbem-Bosse of Ellenwood (Ga.) Cedar Grove didn't make his planned trip to Michigan last weekend, if that's the case he has two visit weekends available to him and only two weekends before his window to enroll in January.
He has told me he'll wait to enroll if he doesn't feel right about things but it's an interesting storyline. If he doesn't go anywhere this weekend, one might have to wonder if the Sooners are well out in front.
