We have had a lot of great things from this OU team in the last two seasons Last season with so many freshmen starting and having lost the nation's 2 best HR hitters Lauren Chamberlain & Shelby Pendley . to graduation expectations were very low last season for our very young group of softball players & only ONE talent pitcher who had to pitch every inning of every game by herself.

But to our surprise this very young OU softball team knew how to win championships. They surprised us and the nation when we won the 2016 WCWS to win the National Championship.

This season now 56-9 the team had no real respect from the softball committee to award us as a host to a Super Regional in Norman..

This season In our Big 12 tournament we gave up zero runs in the Big 12 tournament. In our regional it took a We won't lose attitude to win.We were down two runs in the last inning and we scored 4 times to win with 2 HRs. after fighting through the losers bracket.

Our OU team has won 28 straight road games on the opponents home field including today beating Auburn at their home field in the Super Regional. . We will be one of eight teams in the College World Series

I truly believe that we will repeat as the National Champions
We are a fine hitting team we play great defense we have great depth at pitcher and we are a team who does not want to lose and. the team has the belief that they know how and they have the desire to win

Enjoy!

The SEC sent 13 teams to the tournament. Eight got to host a regional.

Of the five that didn't, three were seeded third, but went home 0-2. The other two got knocked out. All of the regional hosts advanced from every regional.

The XII only sent four teams to the tournament. All four won at least twice.

Texas won two. A&M knocked them out in game 6. A&M is going to the WCWS.

OSU won three, including a win over national number one seed Florida, but lost the followup to the Gators and went home. Florida is going to the WCWS.

The SEC is sending three teams to the WCWS. They hosted three Supers.

The XII is sending two teams to the WCWS. The didn't get to host any. SEC teams who went home in the first round of their tournament, were seeded over OU, who has lost twice in seven weeks and went 17-1 in the conference and swept the conference tournament.

To say the SEC underperformed is an understatement. The ONLY event an SEC school won in the last two weeks that wasn't as host school, was LSU at Florida State. The latter was more overrated than the SEC. Only three teams went 2-0 in the Supers. OU was the only team to do it on the road.

The other two were Pac 12 schools Oregon and UCLA. Both were playing SEC schools.

Of course the bracket was built to favor the SEC ensuring three would be in same same side.

Bull, your ranting about the SEC favoritism got to be a little tiresome over the last month, but it turned out to be true.

Exact and to the point. Please send this to the softball gurus that made these tournaments up. Even the Auburn coach said that the Auburn and Oklahoma regional was made for tv. Another question is why dont the reseed after the super regional.

Same reason they don't reseed in any other tournament. Only would allow for more shenanigans. Besides, OU is playing Baylor first, who is the lowest seeded team left.

I think any of the 8 left can win this thing.

Plaino I have come to a correct conclusion.

You are the KING OF COLLEGE SOFTBALL KNOWLEDGE on this board tied with Syberite.

I bow down to both of you!

I hope you are feeling better my friend.

And you, sir, the Sooner nation's most fervent male cheerleader, in the gray haired and loves softball division. And as they say of the OSU HC on any of their OSU softball broadcasts, you've actually played the game and played it well. I wonder if most Sooner posters didn't know that about you.

But I'll relinquish the certain title you've bestowed in your correct conclusion. I don't think KING is a title to be shared.

There aren't enough softball fanatics on this board to merit a king. It requires a kingdom. If you examine other boards, you find speedy17 on OUHoops, as well as VNSooner, Cclift, Upontop, JSull, and AustinTxSooner on SoonerTimes. Occasionally, a parent joins the discussion

Bull, I love your optimism. Just curious, but is there ever an upcoming season in any sport you care about, when you don't predict an imminent national championship for the Sooners?

I love optimism. But always predicting our Sooners will be national champions every single season is it stops being a prediction. It looks like homerism then.

Plaino I am optimistic about some OU sports but I am a realist about others.

I feel very positive about 2017 OU football & OU softball teams I AM. VERY POSITIVE ABOUT BOTH.

I love Sheri Coale but I am realistic about OU lady basketball, We will have to come a long long way to win a NC I would settle for a Big 12 Championship and even that will be difficult. Also OU men's basketball in the upcoming season could have a great year with Trey our new 5 star addition .& our very talented youth.A NC would be a huge surprise.

Pete Hughes OU baseball team I just hope they show up for the regional. The Pete Hughes era has been very disappointing

I was very positive on both men's & woman's gymnastics and both won it all.Graduation could hurt us next year.

OU's golf team has promise & today for the first time in OU history we won the national championship in Tennis doubles!
I love all OU sports but I am realistic about what will happen. I love surprises & OU men's basketball under Lon Kruger could be next year's big surprise.

BOOMER SOONER!

Bull, that may be the most common sense, well written post I've read from you in this decade, certainly since your return earlier in '17.
