A few things which stood out.
--Brent must fix (and we know he will), the TE running free behind the DBs.

--Dillon Gabriel is a stone cold killer when the pocket is collapsing. It stood out on the final go-ahead touchdown but then re-watching the game, the man was that way early on.

--Worthy, at least once, was running free behind our DBs.

--I have not seen an OU defense like this since BV departed for Clemson. God Bless Brent!

--I have not seen a Linebacker shoot the gap as Stuts does since Boz, Teddy or Calmus!

--I have always held the position that I can stomach an OU loss if we played OU football and represented. The problem was that since Bent departed for Clemson, we have played current USC style embarrassing and vomit-inducing defense. We won purely based on brilliant offense (TEBOW). Brilliant enough to overcome garbage defense (TEBOW) and un-coached special teams (TEBOW).

--DO NOT underestimate the impact this win had on the recruiting front. Kids were wondering if OU was done or if OU was indeed temporarily suffering from the TEBOW betrayal and attempted destruction of our proud OU program! Accordingly, within 24 hours of our RRR win, Akinkunmi, EPL and Bog were Fonged to OU.

--TEBOW laid bare the disease of LAZY journalism exposing those national journalists who failed to do their due diligence in determining the reasons OU was 6-7 last year; the impact of the transfer portal and the proud legacy that is OU football. Lazy journalism buying into the perspective that OU is the next Nebraska…The ignorance and laziness of the national media becomes apparent as they clearly neither understand nor comprehend the fundamental concept or impact of a recruiting base. NU left the fertile Texas – Oklahoma recruiting base and OU did not. Thus regardless of a down year, OU will always recruit effectively.

--Journalists laid bare the disease of lazy journalism when for example, Paul Finebaum (OCT-2023) referred to OU as UT’s little brother displaying utter ignorance of the history of college football in that NC’s, Heisman’s and Conference Championships obviously have no connectivity to his parameters for analysis.

--So many national journalists jumping on 49-0 not even realizing the cause and effect of losing Gabriel before that game resulting in a Tight End as our QB and not factoring in that Gabriel will be back this year and if he were to be injured, the Troy Aikman / Lamar Jackson mutant, Jackson Arnold is standing in the proverbial breach!

--I love the fact that UT was typical UT; arrogant, rich, and ignorant. They blindly bought into the 49-0 lazy-journalism-narrative compounded by their fluke victory over Bama…(We’re BAAAAACK…AGAIN)! Accordingly, the RRR loss was that much more DEVASTATING to UT.))))))

--Re-watching the game for the umpteenth time (does that make me dysfunctional?), for every questionable call a UT fan can have, I can find a call UT got away with. From the overturn of the UT TE fumble which had to have been 100% indisputable (but it wasn’t) to Jaden Gibson having his arm pinned by the DB on the deep ball, prior to the ball arriving….etc…etc…etc…

--Had Tawee not dropped the walk-in TD etc… The point is, OU kicked UT’s ass.

--Tawee is RB#1. He isn’t Mixon, AD, or DeMarco but…he is sturdy, durable, tough, and consistent.

--We have a lot to do to repair special teams. There were some unforgiveable fundamental errors like whiffing on the punt block resulting in a blocked punt to giving up the fake punt etc.

--OU hasn’t had a “group” of DBs (Gentry, Bowman, and Bowen) this effective (coached) since Strait, Everage (RIP) and Roy.

--Gentry is a man amongst men!

--Farooq is a man amongst men!

--Nic is a man amongst men!

--Gabriel is a man amongst men!

--Rouse is a man amongst men!

--Downs is a man amongst men!

--Stuts is a man amongst men!

--God Bless the transfer portal for Lacey, Terry, Bothroyd, McCullough, Pearson, Rouse, etc… These men quickly replenished and then countered the damage TEBOW and Grinch did to OU’s legendary program.

--OU is uniquely positioned to leverage the Portal annually due to our national brand and prestige.

--Gabriel running free in front of the entire UT defense is an iconic look equal to any and worthy of all of our home walls!

--OU must exploit STOG’s 6-7 frame more as the season goes on.

--UT fans can continue to whine non-stop about Sark going for 3 at the end but they cheered as if they had won the super bowl when the field goal was good.

--UT fans can continue to whine non-stop about OU celebrating our win but they celebrated more when they beat Bama.
