Draper is an oustanding talent but every time I watch him I am amazed by his technical ability. Whether it's him reading something off tackle and working his way through the trash or taking on a fullback, shedding the block, and eating up the runner. I just love the way he sees the game and more than that, the way he trusts what he sees and attacks.
The thing about that attack is that it's under control. I rarely see him getting himself out of position, which tells me he is a guy that knows his keys and reads them quickly. I just see a guy who has a great natural feel but also puts in plenty of work preparing.
He is a bigger guy, reminds me some of former Texas linebacker Keenan Robinson in his frame and the way that he plays. What sticks out to me about his size is the way he can change direction with it. There is one play (about 1:13 into the reel) where he rides the fake but is so sound technically that he doesn't have bad wasted steps, he just sticks his foot into the ground and drives outside to track down the runner.
I'm guessing maybe 3-4 LBs in the state can make that play and none of them have his frame.
I think Draper is definitely best suited as an inside guy but in a pinch he can play outside and be just fine.
