Yes, I don't know of any way to make that sound better than the headline.
At any rate Lampkin is a guy I actually added to the Rivals database and had been excited since seeing him play against Keith Ford as a senior (the clips of Ford crushing several guys on kickoff return etc.). And as a junior I just never saw the jump that I thought he might make.
Then as a senior, you see things starting to come together for him. He is an explosive athlete who not only has the athleticism to handle pass rush situations but is such a powerfully built, and large, guy that he holds up well against the run.
To me he is the near ideal type of player for a 3-man defensive line.
As a guy who has stood next to him several times, I can tell you he is every bit of the listed 6-foot-4, 306-pounds that he is listed as. And with that kind of size to go with his ability to close down space quickly you just see a guy with worlds of potential.
Now he has a long way to go with moves and just his overall game because right now if he can't run past you or through you, he really doesn't have an answer.
In the end, for me what makes him special is his short area quickness and the fact that he can play on the edge (in a three-man front) or can slide to the middle naturally thanks to a very large frame.
