The experience of going to a game at the Rose Bowl is a bucket list item. The stadium, the view, the ambience is incredible. It is sad that UCLA puts on such an amateur hour presentation of the college football experience. Consider:

1) No band before the game, at halftime and barely any playing after the game: from the stands.
2) ZERO presentation of what is happening in other games across the country during the game. Only once did I see any scores from other games on the scoreboard.
3) Idiotic sideline spots by their reporter.
4) The PA announcer was wrong half the time in his down and distance calls.
5) The video board was in SD! It's 2019!
6) Too many other things to count...

The OU gameday experience is without equal. What we do for the fans of both teams is incredible and adds so much to the enjoyment of the game.

Well done guys!

You need to go one more time when it's actually the Rose Bowl game. The weather makes it an incredible venue for an early January football game.

That's what i was thinking. Going to the actual Rose Bowl game would be a completely different, and much more professional, presentation

Went to the Rams game Sunday...USC is in an AWFUL part of town!
University of South Central baby! So did you park at a Crip or Blood house? Worst place in LA I’ve been, Saw Pink Floyd at the Coliseum in 88 and had to pay some gang bangers 10 bucks for parking in there yard. Can’t believe they have no parking for a stadium that holds 100,000! On a side note the truck still had everything inside!!!!;)

I had the pleasure of attending the Rose Bowl vs Wazzu. We did the Rose Parade that morning and it was beyond our expectations. As most on here, I grew up watching the Rose Parade before the catalogue of football games on 1 Jan. My daughter was 4 at the time and got an OU cheerleader outfit for Christmas. She wore it to the game. From the day she was born her mother only speaks Russian to her and I only speak English. If she responds to me in Russian I return to her in English. Her first 10 years was around people that spoke English and Russian. I came to realize in the Rose Bowl that she assumed everyone spoke Russian and English. She asked me in Russian why everyone was ignoring her. I told her to speak English. The second half was so much more pleasant for me with her chatting up the football grannies within proximity.

Was there too that morning and afternoon scottsdale. still captivated by the spectacle to this day, the colorful parade along with the perfect climate despite being early january. what about those beautiful mountains in the background, and that perfect stadium! so endlessly sloping slowly to the bright green gridiron below. every seat a good one. plus we abused the coogs all day. wish hybl had played like that against the cowboys we'd be champs again. so what's russian for "block that kick?" imagine hearing a kid scream that in russian from the stands. hilarious!

The Rose Parade/Bowl is the complete experience ad it could not be in a more perfect place. As you say, there is not a bad seat in that stadium. My daughter is now 21 and has been to many OU games. She went to high school at Cactus Shadows and was one of 4 girls to wear OU gear every Friday before games in football season. When she was a sophomore she came home to tell me that a guy from Desert Mountain told her he was going to go to OU on football scholarship. Yep, Mark Andrews.

I actually parked in a lot where I used this criteria:

1) He wore an orange vest
2) there was a cop across the street (my assumption was it wasn't a scam or he would have been busted.
3) There were 20 other cars there already
4) Some of the people who parked there seemed to know the attendant

a lot of things have changed in 30 years, but not the stadium! ;)
