This article provided a LITTLE bit of salve for my Monday Morning Mad...I'm still licking my wounds because I'm not getting suited up for OU's NC Game, tonight...Not Flying the Flag, Prepping Yummy for the Tummy, Rubbing the noses of my texas and osu fans into the dirt...and on and on...You have your own collection of regrets and disappointments connected to OUr conspicuous absence in the NC Game...
The GOOD News is that OU is turning out players like Ty Darlington and many more who have excelled at OU in areas other than on the field...There are many! We don't always hear 'The Rest of the Story', but these young men are out there...They take away a lot more from the campus than trophies, titles, headlines, and Glory! They take bad knees and shoulders that will be lifetime reminders of their playing days, friendships with teammates that will never end, knowledge of how to keep on keepin' on, when the going gets tough, AND IT WILL, along with the Joy of Victory, and the Agony of Defeat...
Ty's story is an excellent example of one of the successes of Lessons Learned...Often, once the value of winning is experienced in playing the game, that carries over into living a life...Ty Darlington seems to have learned that lesson well. I'll look forward to following his progress with much interest, and Sooner Pride...
