Update, 12:37 p.m.: TCU has dismissed senior receiver/ punt returner KaVontae Turpin from its football team, head coach Gary Patterson told reporters Tuesday afternoon.
After Turpin was arrested and booked into Tarrant County Jail on Sunday for assault with bodily injury to a family member, news surfaced that of an outstanding arrest warrant for Turpin in New Mexico that dates back to March. Patterson said Tuesday he wasn't aware of the domestic violence incident until early Monday afternoon.
"Obviously, I wish I knew more," Patteron said, adding he hadn't yet told Turpin he was dismissed. "I'm not trying to cover anything up."
