Read this morning that Billy Tubbs was in hospice care? I didnt even know he was sick

That stinks. I met Billy back in the 90's when the Sooners were playing in Lincoln. Talked to him for several minutes. Great person and a great coach.
Hate to hear this. Billy Ball was so exciting to watch! Those were the days, Wayman, Stacey, Mookie, Harvey. Sad dangit.

I got off a plane in Tulsa with Billy and his TCU team. He took the time to talk with me while walking down the terminal corridor. He was the one asking ME all the questions about what was going on at OU. I had a chance to tell him OU fans love the heck out of him and miss him, and he almost choked up when I said that. After awhile, his team was way-far ahead of him and he apologized that he needed to catch up to his guys. Billy is a class act. He'll always be may favorite basketball coach... anywhere.
He and we were robbed of the Natty playing on their (almost) home floor in KC dammit

OU had is goin on with Switzer and Tubbs there at the same time both players for a NC. We will never see Billy ball again. Thanks for the memories coach
