Brando was nauseatingly and blatantly anti-OU in much of his commentary last night. I remember the above stupidity as well as "I'll get hate tweets from OU fans about this" [but Sooner offensive linemen have been illegally downfield all night]. He was arguing like a Tech fan with Spencer Tillman on the kick return sideline fumble. I guess it's a carryover from his commentary with Frank Broyles on the ABC broadcasts in the 80s. He didn't think much of us then and his opinion hasn't changed. It's also the reason we haven't heard much from him in 30 years and probably won't again any time soon.

Sports broadcasting these days has always been hit and miss.
Tim Brando had a bad night last night and doesn't seem to know football as well as he should.
There are/were good announcers/color commentators like Tony Romo, John Madden, Sean McDonough, Dwayne Stats, Harry Kalas, Gene Elson and Vin Skully......and then there are or have been clowns like Loel Passe, Joe Buck, John Sterling that diminish one's enjoyment of the game.
Loel Passe (Colt 45's and Astros) and John Sterling (Yankees) are the two worst I have ever heard....by far. Sterling has done radio for the Yankees since 1988 and his silly, childish and erratic drool is a Steinbrenner family favorite. I'm ready for an adult to replace this idiot.

There were a few times I thought Spencer might get back in his face, but he kept it cool most all night. Brando took shot after shot at OU pretty much the entire game until it was like 44-7 lol!

Brando falls in line with the many broadcasters who loathe the Sooners. The goal line play with Hall was him showing his ignorance of the game. Trying to make something out of nothing.

I don't love Brando, but l don't get the hate. He and Spencer wouldn't have lasted this long if he really hated OU. I think he might just be trying to balance out his Sooner buddy. And l think Spencer does a good job not coming across as a Sooner homer.

Spencer belongs on a top assignment. He is growing as a broadcaster. He is head and shoulders above most. Plus he has played the game.
