It sounds like this will be a weekend with no visits and things will get started in earnest next weekend.
I'm guessing it's in hopes of building more complete weekends but Scoop will be digging for more on this situation.
UPDATE: 9:14a: The first of Oklahoma's five expected early enrollees has confirmed he is on his way to Norman today (all are expected to report today).
UPDATE 8:16a: I really was under the impression that Oklahoma and Johncarlo Valentin had parted ways but the Sooners made one of their first stops in the, now, open recruiting window to see the four-star Philadelphia Imhotep Inst. Charter School product.
ORIGINAL: Guys, for a long time I've been reporting that I did not expect Pernell Jefferson to sign with Oklahoma next month.
Well just recently I'd gotten some word that would definitely seem to confirm it as he will be visiting Indiana this weekend, after months of rumors that he would take trips to Nebraska and TCU.
This may not seem like a big deal but it's all about knowing the subtext. Generally guys from the Stoops coaching tree DO NOT recruit one another's commitments. This would seem a clear sign that Kevin Wilson's staff is aware of what we've been reporting, Oklahoma just doesn't consider Jefferson part of this class currently and is not planning on his future involvement.
And Jefferson has confirmed that he is taking an official visit to Indiana this weekend.
