Bob has made two major coaching change and the MO is still the same. In this day and age where there is proof that coaching can drastically change a program, see Alabama, michigan...etc., it's proving that Bob and his staff will only keep us at an above average team no matter the decision.

  1. This defense has not crossed the line to where it use to be as an elite defense when you have teams like TCU that are able to get their teams to play elite-level defense with what are perceived as lesser quality players than OU. We all know Mike's team looks clueless against Baylors of the world for the past 3 years but now we are seeing that he can't stop the run either. When will Bob make the ultimate decision and let Mike go?
  2. Offensive line is absolute $hit this year. Worse I've seen since 2005 but this one is even worse. You can't even make the full excuse that they are young because that would not make up for Ty Darlington or Nila's horrid performance. Orlando Brown will be a stud but St John is a bust of epic proportions along with Farniok. Good chance we will lose 4-5 game because of them and the inability to run the ball. THe worse repercussion will be Baker getting hurt because they don't protect him...I hope those guys start taking more pride and accountability for their $hitty performance because they are killing us. Nila needs to stop singing and spend more time improving his blocking.
  3. Lastly but I feel most important overall, more and more frequently our teams are not prepared for games. This is systemic and I put this on the coaches. To continue to come out flat for games, big or small, is unacceptable. In addition, ajustments are not as effective, even when the coaches think they know what to adjust. We use to have a new wrinkle for the UT game...etc. under this coaching staff. We use to pride ourselves on how "smart" and prepared OU teams were. Now, announcers have better idea of an effective game plan than our coaches. WTF?
I'm not surprised about this loss because UT always has talent so their record is never indicative of the match ups. That said, it's extremely disheartening to see our teams, year in and year out under Bob, have the same gaps and make the same mistakes no matter the changes. I will say, I think Lincoln RIley's vision is light years better than Heupel(a 5th grader's offense stands a good chance compared to Heupel). Time will tell if we can get the talent at the skill position and Oline to protect to maximize the scheme. Defense is concerning to me the most. You win championships with defense and that side of the ball has to be consistent.

THis loss hurts and is typical of big game boob's teams the last 5 years and is concerning that this is all we will get from Bob from now on...occasional big win but nothing consistent that will take us back to being elite.
