Thibs announced as new DL coach

Based on reports several days ago, I figured he would get the job. I like his Texas roots and that he's considered a rising star.

Looking at his resume, I saw an interesting bit of trivia. Calvin went to all four of the major bowls with the Sooners; Sugar, Orange, Rose and Fiesta.

What was his record is those 4 bowls? 1-3?

Got beat by LSU, USC, and WVU. We beat WSU is the Rose

Thibodeaux cannot be discredited for OU's bowl record during his time at OU.
By that kind of logic, should we discredit Bob Stoops for being a 4 year starter at Iowa (1979-82) on a team that had two losing seasons and a 1-1 bowl record during his years there ?

Oh yeah - BSU Sorry for my confusion. I was at both the BSU and WVU games. And in my defense I didn't include the Holiday because the poster said the 4 major bowls.

But thanks for the correction. Seriously

I agree with you. You can't blame Thibs for those losses. I was trying to be a smart alec. Sorry

Welcome aboard the Sooner train CT. Houston native which should help recruiting of DL. Now we can get on with spring practices.

It just makes me feel good when a former Sooner comes back home. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't. I can accept that. Bully, Calvin. Welcome back! Boomer.
