Everyone’s expectations were blown out of the water, after a win over Texas, which could have been a multiple score victory, if a couple of things went our way. Losing to Kansas sucks, it’s flat out embarrassing, no matter how improved they are. Coming into this season, I figured going 8-4 would establish hope for the future, I never anticipated us doing as well as we have thus far into the season. If we beat OK-State one last time, I wouldn’t care about the outcome for the remainder of the season. I just wanted to see improvement, which has been shown to the world. Imagine implementing a five star QB, with a deep recruiting class, and another year of maturity and implanting the system into our young guys, that’s national championship hope. Also I bet Bowman and Stuts stay. That’s not a knock on DG, he’s a great and experienced QB, but he lacks the IT factor that Heismans QB’s have, or maybe it’s just the play calling, and our team is simply just not ready for a CFP. Our defense is very much so improved, but not to the standards of a national championship hope. For whatever it’s worth, I’m more confident now, then I was last week, that we win the Big 12. We got ego checked, and that’s the chip on our shoulders we carried up to RRR. I have no doubt that we play our best ball now, then ever. If we feel embarrassed losing to Kansas, imagine how our players feel. One thing is for certain, Coach Lebby needs to figure out what direction he wants to go in. It’s all gas, and then we stall. We saw it in Cincinnati, a bit in RRR, and definitely vs UCF & Kansas. He’s a hell of an OC, he’s just over complicating things. Since Andrel went down, I feel we haven’t had homerun threats on the field, even tho their on the roster, like Thompson or Pettaway. We came into this season worrying about who our WR1 will be, and it was established quickly. Now it’s amongst that group to decide which one of them will pull away from everyone else. Four games left for this team to decide it’s own destiny.
