Nice to have those thoughts, but it's only an opinion. For what it's worth I thought ISUs offense and qb was terrible. We SHOULD dominate this game but who knows
Against that juggernaut Iowa State team that hung 7 against Texas, that's a bold statement.
Ya Iowa State finally faced a legit defense and showed just how awful their offense is. That's being said, I'm cautiously optimistic that OU's defense can show up and do the same thing that Texas did.
Texas will further expose our fine, highly overpaid DC. Hope no one else comes looking for his services and therefore lose the thorn in our side.
Well if we don't dominate Iowa State then we aren't national championship caliber. We are at home and Iowa State isn't all that great
Having Bledsoe back will help with the rotation. But we still have Mike, so I doubt the defensive can be dominating,
Nothing short of a 2002 Seneca Wallace redo will be acceptable.
Keep in mind that the clones put up 41 points on the stout hawx defense that barely got beat by 'mighty' penn state...
Venables was always hand cuffed. As great of a recruiter as Venables, he couldn't get the override to recruit, his style.
Bob and Mike have always been a "Back 7" style defense. Venables is a "Front 7" guy. With recruiting, the Stoop Brothers or Bob, would always take a chance on a DB, Hybrid LB/DE or Hybrid, LB/S, over a Dlineman.
I've said this before and will say it again. It all starts up front. It's not a line. All games are won in the trenches. We have decent RB's, not great but our Oline makes the holes and these guys look good. Just imagine what Mixon would look like, with this line a year older? Or what our Defense would look like with Ed Oliver?

I'm more concerned with this team staying healthy and winning....and finding some depth at linebacker....and next week's game against Texas than I am about OU being able to shut out a beat up and outmanned opponent.

High school uniforms bring out high school play...
What's amazing is that line for line, everything stated happened in complete opposite.
I've seen high school teams that have a lot better defensive schemes than Mike Stoops had again for this game today.

Wait a second that QB spent two years at Oregon St. and a year at JUCO and had never started a game. Mikey had to respect the competition his defense was up against....
