As bad as Florida and Miami looked yesterday I am reminded that the Sooners generally start slow and look like they needed another two weeks of practice in the first game.,,,.,just keeping it real.....

I sincerely hope we have a better first game than we usually do,..l

During the Orange Bowl when we were down 28-0, did anybody else see Lincoln talking to the whole team? You could tell by the look on their faces they were buying in to what he was saying. After that, the O got on track and the D had a few stops. I told my wife right then that OU will win at least 2 NCs under Riley. Maybe not this year though. The D needs more development but its headed in the right direction.

I am just trying to keep you grounded Z over at the main board. I get your hate for the SEC and all because I am that way towards them also. However both UF and Miami would be a handful to open with.

I hope our Sooners get #8 but it will be up to the defense to do its job. I still see OU losing at least once though.

OU has all the components, cylinders, horsepower, etc to go undefeated in the regular season and win the Big XII Conf Championship. No other team has the talent and skills sets that OU has. But as we know it is about staying focused, playing hard every down of every game and limited injuries. We cannot get caught flatfooted this year. Intensity is an ingrained byproduct of good coaching. We need constant forces of emotional intensity on the field and on the sidelines. We go 13-0 through the season. I'm praying we finish 2nd or 3rd and go to the Fiesta Bowl before the Natty Game.

Expectations and enthusiasm are very high every year and a National Title run expected. That has not been contagious so..........
Once bitten twice shy by our Defense.
Hopefully some improvement will be seen but meh, I hope for that every year.
