I wanted to thank all of you who sent prayers and words of encouragement after the loss of my father during the game last Saturday. I read every post but not all at once. I would log on and read several posts at a time as a pick me up when I was feeling down. (Yes, they brought on some tears, as well, but in a good way.) Thank you to @Plainosooner and @sbeker63 for the personal messages. We had the funeral this morning but unfortunately will not be able to have the interment at Ft. Worth National Cemetery until Monday. My wife and I have decided to go ahead and attend the ucla game, as that's what my father would have wanted. Below is a little bit about his life and the link below is a picture of a little memorial of him at his funeral. Thank you all again, and God bless!

Born in Guthrie, Ok in 1940. In 1958, he left Pauls Valley just prior to his 18th birthday to join the Army and was stationed at the Nike Missle Base in Denton, TX serving as a Radar Technician. He requested to go to Vietnam, as he later explained to us that it would increase his pay $40 a month. His request was denied, as his position was deemed too important. He married my mother in 1962 and served his country a total of 6 years. He became a fireman and his career lasted 30 years. He spent his retirement watching his grandchildren, as he wouldn't consider them attending daycare. My father loved John Wayne movies, talking about his faith in God, his time in the Army and Sooner Football. His favorite players were Billy Vessels, Steve Owens, Jack Mildren, Joe Washington, the Selmons and Billy Sims.
