Art. I’m not criticizing the hire but I am surprised. Frankly I could give a rats ass who Texas Tech hires. It’s one of the those jumping off places or a dead end. Leach did a good job there but only won more than 9 games one time. Just not a school that is an annual problem for schools like OU. OU is going to have many more challenging seasons in the SEC.

Texas Tech is a bit of an anomaly to me. I know Lubbock is a "wasteland" to steal from Barkley, but is it any worse than Waco or Manhattan KS? Tech has never won a Big 12 championship. They join ISU, KS, and West Virginia. I'm sure the right coach that could do well there will bolt but it surprises me that TCU, Baptist-mafia, and KSU, can do what Tech could not.

My best friend lives in Lubbock. His wife is a dean of nursing at Texas Tech. I love both of them but living there is like looking out the window and only seeing telephone poles forever. You’re right. It’s a waste land.

Where do you live brother? My suggestion is git outta the house and travel some? Lubbock is one the purtyest places on god's green earth. They can't help it their football program sucks balls. 😁

He has great ties with other HS coaches and TT has to start winning, some of those recruiting battles against Baylor, TCU and OSU. I think this will help but he's never been a HC at the college level. I know he was the reason Baylor beat out TexASS on some prospects, with Herman. Even got a flip or two.

If OU runs the table, they deserve the playoff. I don’t believe they will because I believe it is asking too much to play the 3 best teams on the schedule in the last three weeks of the season. OU just hasn’t played well enough in stretches this season to expect that.
